Lusso, you always expect my fails...

    • I expect what I see... .

I was the only one who filled the tablesheets until today. I am not saying anything against you or everybody, but let's be real - who showed interest?

This can still be brought back to life - until WTT @ Le Mans is over.

You're right... I didn't tell anyone this was coming back... Practically there was no way to join the tournament. I should have announced it with another thread. But yes, I'm open to suggestion, any TT to substitute the Le Mans one??

    • You should keep it until it expires, because some people posted their times. Its your challenge, it is up to you and how you manage all this. In my opinion, you can do so much more to lure people to participate here, if you wanted it to "live".

OK. Thought in a way of making this "live": message some people who participated on the last edition, inviting them to participate in this one, and advert more people of the tournament, what do you think?

    • Sure, try it. Got nothing to lose. It's them who are missing! :P

    • Well, I've messaged some: MegaDriver80Wiki, Mlieberman, Quiksilvr, Nyuszko, Elpreciado, Topcon, Jim Leckie...

Maybe tomorrow I'll open the mail box and I'll find it full of TTT#6!

    • I've put in my preliminary scores for now. Will get down to it over the weekend. I figure I can improve my scores at least in two of the four TT's.

I have just found this, by accident really, as I generally just check the game discussion or the car event topics..

I will not participate, thank you for the invite.. When I have time to race, it will be for the WTT.. By that stage I am tired of time trials, to be frank..

I will eventually submit a time for the fastest 10 lapper competition thread, but I haven't farmed for a while either. (Recent restart of ads, the monthly gold bonuses and few weeks of gold wins in the WTT has thankfully taken off the 'gold pressure', as I was very much fed up with farming)

C'mon, do not be discouraged. I've just put GT3 RS 4.0 on service and will give ot a shot at Le Mans. Altough I don't guarantee a good time, since the pressure of not getting off track often leads me off track! Man, I hate TT! :D

        Loading editor
    • Maybe a Race Time competition then? Really, I hate TTs too, the pressure of the off-track puts you in a very delicated situation: better keep it nice and easy through the corners. I'm thinking right now on how's the next type of tournament gonna be. A race chosen randomly, the fastest driver with the fastest race is the winner. What do you think?

        Loading editor
    • Nah, TT is fine for this kind of tournament. A race has variables, like bot speed, cutting corners, that can affect time. TT is only you and the track, a condition that is fair for everyone, a pure display of skill. Ideally, the best option would be a multiplayer tournament, but the bugs and the organization would make it nearly impossible.

On a side note, I'm currently training with my Porsche at Le Mans, but I'm way behind the times posted. It's a very fast circuit, and my ride isn't really that upgraded. But that's no excuse: I find hard to believe the upgrades will help me shave 30s of my time! :P

You can do a cloud save, purchase all the upgrades, do your time, and when you've finished, restore cloud. Your time will still be the same, while you won't lose any GC, with a Fully-upgraded time!

    • You're right, I'll try that! Thanks!

1st chicane is tricky as an early braking point is needed, but braking too early can slow you down. In the downhill chicane, get to the left, try to make it as similar as a straight, braking a bit late but risking and hitting the outside apex, too. The fast one before the main straight is also trickly, you need to know the limit of the car. You can brake early and throttle hitting the outside apex. The chicanes depend on the braking point, I can't help you here, it depends on your feeling. The 90 degrees right-hander is an unknown world: you can smash into the outside barrier, brake early, then lose a bit of time and get to the straight fastly. There's also the possibility of braking like a human and get worse exit. The fast turns of the last sector decide the final time; early braking points and good ways open a set of tight corners which need tight racing lines. The final chicanes are also difficult, but, yes, I hope I have helped

    • Thanks for the tips. I find the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 a bit loose, not really my style. I can improve my time, and I almost did (got off track at the Porsche Curves) but I will never reach those times. My best so far is 3:44. : /

      Assists?

    • None, TC off, tilt B, cockpit view.

But I found out what was (part of) the problem was: the car. I was about to give up when I decided to "borrow" the 911 Turbo (2009). It was unfairly different. At Turn 1 I was 0.5s ahead of my ghost. It's a shame the car lacks both braking and grip, two of the things I like in a car.

Managed a 03:28, with an overzealous driving, still a little far, but I'm sticking with it for now. My biggest trouble are (ironically) the Porsche Curves. Too much oversteer.  How do I submit my results?

    • Hi guys... I am racing on Tilt A with chase cam (no laughing please  ;o))

Always remember early breaking is crucial for entering a turn and the possibility to give speed earlier.

Listeing to the sound of the gear shifts might help as well. sometimes its important not to let the car do a down shift.

And try different sensibilities. I reduced mine in the Porsche down to 2. that helped me avoiding driftring.

      Happy racing!

      Cheers Frank
