After several small improvements I got back into group A (for now) which is a relief but I take no real satisfaction from it as it felt like pot luck, literally every corner I had no idea if the car would grip or slide and I was generally surprised when it did grip! I still have no idea how to get out of the final corner as it keeps sliding when I try to get on the throttle ... if only we had (1) some form of feedback and (2) proper control of the throttle.
Nice jump back into A Nick, that time looks totally safe to me. I like these old Group C cars, but the Porsche has no subtlety at the limit - it grips and then it doesn't, but it's got good company in the game in that regard.
Interesting how experiences differ. I was pretty solid in the final chicane after I learned to hit the entry apex reproducibly and got the rhythm for getting back on the throttle. With 130R being no drama flatout, as long you're consistent with the brakes then entry speed is always exactly the same. What kept catching me out was 7 (going back to exit of 6 while setting up 7), the tight entry to Dunlop curve where I'd lose it at random, which led directly to problems in 9 (second Degnar) mostly because entry speed variation made it guesswork on most laps. And I always have problems in Spoon regardless of car, on entry and exit.
