FM/EA has announced the following from v6.5:
Motorsports: Australian Supercars Group
cars will be moving from the Road Collection to new seasons within the new Australian Supercars Group
As a result we will be removing the this Road Collection Series in 6.5

Supercars Championship '17 is a Road Collection series in the Elite group and was added in McLaren and Bathurst Update (v5.5.0).
In the series, players will be able to participate in 42 events, separated by 16 tiers.
Throughout the series, players can earn up to 
68,000 by unlocking tiers, as well as 65,000 and 65 
in bonuses upon reaching 100% completion in the series. Players must earn 33 trophies in Supercars Championship '16 in order to participate in this series.
Tier 16 and 85% completion can be reached without upgrades.
Supercars Championship '17 contains the bonus series Ford Supremacy, Holden Domination and 720S Proving Grounds, unlocked by earning 12, 18 and 24 trophies respectively. Earning 27 trophies will unlock the next Road Collection series Supercar Elites in the Legend group.
