FM/EA has announced the following from v6.5:
Motorsports: Australian Supercars Group
cars will be moving from the Road Collection to new seasons within the new Australian Supercars Group
As a result we will be removing the this Road Collection Series in 6.5

Supercars Championship '16 is a Road Collection series in the Elite group and was added in Bathurst Update (v4.6.2).
In the series, players will be able to participate in 46 events, separated by 19 tiers.
Throughout the series, players can earn up to 
84,000 by unlocking tiers, as well as 66,000 and 66 
in bonuses upon reaching 100% completion in the series. Players must earn 30 trophies in Ferrari Faceoff in order to participate in this series.
Tier 18 and 78% completion can be reached without upgrades, assuming you have all three cars.
Supercars Championship '16 contains the bonus series Supercars: Altima Power Play, Ford Shelby R3 Spec GT350R World Series, Lamborghini Huracán R3 Spec World Series, Supercars: Holden vs Ford, All-Out Attack and Jaguar C-X75 R3 Spec World Series, unlocked by earning 9, 15, 18, 24, 27 and 30 trophies respectively. Earning 33 trophies will unlock the next Road Collection series Supercars Championship '17.
