Renamed from SHELBY '66 Cobra 427® to SHELBY Cobra 427 (1966) in Aston Martin and Daytona 500 Update (v6.1.0).
The SHELBY '66 Cobra 427® is an Anglo-American sports car with a FORD V8 engine, produced intermittently in both the UK and United States of America since 1962.
The Cobra was based on the AC Cobra British sports car, and was designed in conjunction with FORD in Detroit. A new chassis was built using 4 in (102 mm) main chassis tubes (up from 3 in (76 mm)) and coil spring suspension all around. The new car also had wide fenders and a larger radiator opening. It was powered by the 'side oiler' FORD 427 engine (7.0 L) rated at 425 bhp (317 kW), which provided a top speed of 164 mph (262 km/h) in the standard model and 485 bhp (362 kW) with a top speed of 185 mph (298 km/h) in the competition model.
The SHELBY '66 Cobra 427® is available in 3 series:
- V8 Naturals career series in the Pro/Am group
- The Legend Continues bonus series in the Elite group
- Clash Of The Classics bonus series in the Legend group
This vehicle was added in the American Muscle Update (v1.3) released in August 2013 and can be unlocked as soon as V8 Naturals or The Legend Continues are unlocked or by earning 14 trophies in Clash Of The Classics.
This vehicle is used in the following special events:
- Used in MotorFiesta 1 in Stage 01 Goal 3.
