Real Racing 3 Wiki:Sandbox/Tips and FAQ for Motorfiesta 1

The intention of this page is to keep tips and FAQ for MotorFiesta 1 in one place, which will hopefully help people race this event.

MotorFiesta 1 1995

MotorFiesta 1 is an event in Real Racing 3. It gives the players a chance to win the FERRARI 412 T2. After Race Teams Update (v3.3) was updated, the event has become part of the Legend racing career. To unlock it, players must earned 31 trophies in Vertex Series. Completing MotorFiesta 1 unlocks the RACING SPIRIT series.

Previous progress for those who had already completed the event is not restored in the re-release of MotorFiesta 1, meaning that those who had already completed the event have to start from the beginning again. Players who have already completed the series though, will be rewarded with a total of 135 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted and R$70,000 if the car is not owned, or 80 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted and R$500,000 if the car is owned, if the player completes the goals, in all the stages successfully.

The event comprises a wide range of cars, especially the FERRARI 412 T2.

Tips and FAQ History

This is the fourth iteration of a tips and FAQ page:

Each time the tips have improved. Unfortunately due to the way forum posts and blogs work, only the originator RR3 Michael P or Guillejarque can edit the first entry. With Tips and FAQ for MotorFiesta 1 anyone can edit this page, hopefully this will lead to many more editors adding useful content for everyone’s benefit.

General Tips

Strategy

Real racing 3 is a massive game designed my FireMonkey (FM) to make you want to spend real money on R$ and Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Many in this Wikia community have posted comments that they have managed to reach the end of the game without spending any real money. The bottle neck currency is Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Read this article on strategy for more information:

Time Shifted Multiplayer (TSM)

Read the following about how the time shifted multiplayer affects the AI of the bots, why it's important to win by small margins and how to slow bots down:

Methods to slow bots down

Track Recommended method to slow bots Damage Taken
Autocross Each time you run an Autocross event, set a slow time of of 4th or less, either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race, you will notice, after each time of running, the target time is increased. If continuing doesn't increase the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

Do not set a low time at the line, tilt B will give better control to coast before the line, if you are too quick or brake and wait at the line, smashing the time will increase the AI.
Minimal
Cup As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, if you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Also ignore the bots times on the final screen too, they are based on an average lap time, as you quit their times are based on a standing start, as an average. Instead use the times as a guide, with each retry or continue the bots times should increase. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

OR If you have a broken car run the race a few times, each time you lose you will still get R$ and Fame, place 4th or less, repeating or continuing and re-entering will lower the bot's.

Once ready to go, get to 1st place as quickly as possible and try to slow the bot's down, either spin them out or park in sharp bends / chicanes and stop them passing. By setting a low time, but still coming first, it's still possible to still lower the AI of bots, think about a Time Trial time, if you set a set a slow time it lowers the AI.

Minimal /None.
Drag Race Start the race, press go and leave the car is first gear, do not click repeat, as this will repeat the current race, against the same bot, instead choose continue, then either retry or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponents will change to lower ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a fast time, instead use the gears to slow the car, once passed the bot go up through the gears, but watch the bot doesn't speed up / close the gap, or if close to the line go down a gear to brake.
Minimal
Elimination Elimination events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI, deliberately lose a few times, do not move at the start (Tilt B), wait for the 20 second timer to run out, then repeat or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponent will change to lower ones. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race.

Once ready to go, get to first place and slow the bots as per the cup event.
None
Endurance Endurance events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI deliberately lose a few times, change the controls to Tilt B, when the lights go green do not move, wait for the timer to count down the 60 seconds. Either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Note the distance is reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's distance try repeating and vice a versa. It's possible to get all 7 bots distance to 1.0 mi.

Another point, the online and offline bots can wildly vary on Endurance races, especially with fiends distance'. It's normally much better to race Endurance races offline, before going to the Endurance event go offline (aeroplane mode), if you've already started an Endurance race online, exit back to the main menu, if your logged into FB / G+ / Weibo, goto settings and logout, then force close, go offline and relaunch RR3, bots should now be offline ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st marker, park up (tilt B) and wait for the timer to count down.
None
Head To Head As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Repeat multiple times, ignore the bot's time on the final screen, it is based on an average lap time, you can use it as a guide that the bot's time is reducing.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good time, instead once in 1st place, use the same technique as cup events, slow the bot down. Quite often a single bot will not push you once stopped, so you can easily hold it up for 20 seconds, then go for it. Wait at the line to reduced the time set, but still win.
1 lap of damage /None
Hunter As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, repeat multiple times, each time you repeat the distance to the 1st place will increase.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st place marker, slow down and maintain a small distance advantage ahead, when near the line slow to reduce the distance, but still win. It's also possible to spin out the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) to reach 1st, but be careful not to set a top distance. Final point, the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) can be on a different section as track from you, e.g. If 1st place marker is 1,000 yds behind. The NISSAN SILVIA (S15) could be going flat out down a straight while you’re in a hairpin or chicane, so the 1st place marker is going 1,000 yds behind the NISSAN SILVIA (S15), but travels at the same speed so doesn't slow for the chicane! The worst tracks have chicanes before the finish line, like Spa or Le Mans, learn from any losses, track knowledge will help in future events. Sometimes waiting by the line is better, but be aware you're stopped and the 1st place marker could be going at 120 MPH.
1 lap of damage /None
Time Trial Set a slow time, in a race series this event's cup does not count towards continuing your race career (i.e. it does not unlock the next race series). However it does count towards completing 100% of the race series.

Running a time trial with a broken car will therefore take no damage and lower the AI of bots.

Note: If you play against friends do not be tempted to upgrade your car and set faster times, as this will increase the AI of bots, you could always do this once you've bought all cars :)
1 lap of damage /None
Speed Record As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the bot's time is reducing. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a high top speed, brake as soon as you hit 1st place's speed.

If your still struggling to reach first place, the start finish straight is normally the longest straight, you can do a U turn and drive the wrong way around the track, so once around the last turn, do another U turn, and blast down the straight, with all assists off, it doesn't matter if you fly off track at turn one. If the start/finish straight isn't the longest you can still use the no assists method to hit the top speed, again it doesn't matter if you fly off track. However once you reach 1st place brake, so you don't increase the AI of bots. In special events challenges there is quite often a no off track clause to stop this technique, forcing you to upgrade to hit the required speed.
Minimal /None
Speed Snap Speed Snaps are the same "parts of tracks" as Autocross, except you must hit a top speed at the line so set a top speed of 4th or less, the lower the better, then either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the top speed's are reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, do not set a high top speed at the line, tilt B will give better control to feather the throttle once at the 1st place' speed, this takes a bit of practice, smashing the top speed will increase the AI.

You have 4 days to complete the 9 stages, the event is 4 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time you start it, the last stage will end 4 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if you don't complete stage 01 the first day, you can continue the following day. The next stage 02, will instantly unlock once stage 01 is complete, without any restrictions, stage 03 will unlock instantly on completing stage 02, and so on upto stage 09, in total you will have 4 x 24 hours = 96 hours to complete all 12 stages.

Start / End Strategy

Stages unlock as soon as you finish them, so, for example, you can complete 7 stages in a day and the rest in another day. If you calculate your completion well, on MotorFiesta 1 , you will know the time you'll end, so think a good time for you to begin.

Actually, no bugs that belong to this event have been identified, so you can run being sure this event hasn't got any bug.

Cloud Save / Restore

See the Firemonkeys website for full details on cloud save:

Firemonkeys.com.au Cloud Save FAQ

Firemonkeys wrote:
Real Racing 3 automatically uploads your save data to the Cloud Servers once every 12 Hours. This means that if you have lost your save data, you can easily restore your

previous game progress (including your purchases) and also transfer this save data between devices using the Cloud Save feature.

During events you can use the Cloud Save and Restore feature to your advantage.

Before you start every event, manually do a Cloud Save, if you loose do a cloud restore, this will save a 3 hour 55 min repair after the longer, endurance / cup events.

Once you win do another cloud save before you continue the next event, see the FAQ on Firemonkey's website:

It is very important to wait for the screen to display last updated seconds (or minutes) ago. If you have a message stating backup failed, wait another minute, a wheel will turn in the bottom right corner, the message will show last updated seconds (or minutes) ago and Backup to Cloud button will be greyed out too.

If backup still failed, return to the login screen, log off, wait 10 seconds and log on once more, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

If you still have problems: log off, then turn aeroplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, turn aeroplane mode off, wait 30 seconds for the wifi to reconnect, login, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

The final thing to try, force close the RR3 app, then with the Wifi on, relaunch RR3, then try to backup once more. If this still doesn't work, the FM server is probably having problems, again.

You can also use this technique to save on spending with gold, for example if you want to spend 1 gold on the mechanic, if you win, the mechanic will be used and the car condition will be maintained, but if you don't come first the gold is lost and the car condition will be reduced, if you cloud restore the car will be returned to it previous state and the gold spend (or even free mechanic) returned.

Note: Before you cloud restore, it is important to login into the same Social Profiles you had previously connected to Real Racing, when cloud saving. Especially if multiple Social Profiles are used!

FAQ

Car Service

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

If you missed servicing your car after the final event on the day, you can start the next stage and service your car without any restrictions.

The Target is too High, How do I Reduce it?

When the speed or time or distance is too high or fast or long, there are several things that can be done to reduce the target

Make sure you cloud save before you start and after a handful of failed attempts try a cloud restore and retry the next method. Sometimes the AI is still reduced after the restore.

  • Try offline - if you've been online, you must do a force close too.
  • Try online - sometimes the AI target is different.
  • Try repeat, repeat , repeat, again loose by a big margin, don't come higher than 4th.
  • Try loosing by a big margin, but don't retry, instead complete and then re-enter the race - this takes more time but works.

Sorry this takes so much time, but the AI will reduce. With a cloud restore it's quicker than a long service!

Example on how loosing by a big margin reduces the bots:

The Game / Le Mans Keeps crashing

  • If you are having problems loading Le-Mans: Le Mans is the biggest data track to load, close the game, go off line (aeroplane mode), try a complete showdown (hold the power for 10 seconds, I think), then start back up, launch the game and turn the Heads-up Display (HUD) off. This helps on my Hudl.
There is a post suggesting using the RR3 Graphics app (AKA RR3 GFX) available from the Google Play Store, (then automatically updating it from their website). The poster advised Le Mans used to crash, but when the graphics is set low, using this app, it loads and plays fine. Anyway, it doesn't seem to be any race in Le Mans during MotorFiesta 1.

When is the last time I can start this Event?

This event is currently located on the Career, Legend Series, just before the Vertex Series. So, if you get an sufficient number of trophies in that series, you will unlock MotorFiesta 1. There is no last time to start the event, just a beginning time.

Will the car be available to win in the future?

If you didn't complete the MotorFiesta 1 event the first time, you can replay it and win the car. The previous release of RR3 added two of the three FERRARI events to the series, see Series and Special Events, you can see Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1 have been added as special events, the third Scuderia Ferrari Championship one was re-released Scuderia Ferrari Championship/New, maybe that will be added in the future. If you have completed them as a special event, you won't drive it again in the Career.

Can I buy the car?

The FERRARI 412 T2 is available in the Ferrari Evolution series in the legend Series. It can be purchased for 950 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted

If you start to play the event, all upgrades, customizations and VIP will remain on the car permanently, whether you acquire it from this event or buy it later.

What is the minimum PR / upgrades required

Usually, all Level 1 upgrades should be enough. Anyway, maybe you will have to buy some upgrades with gold, just as happened in the Speedrush TV Challenge.

Guillejarque wrote:

194.239.188.2 reply:
had the same problem - if you split the road in 2 parts - you have to stay in the outside lane when you are overtaking - for it to count - then its "easy"

202.128.252.95 reply:
I finished these two assignements in one go. My method is to keep my car behind every AI and not overtook them until both cars entered the curve. I agreed that not every overtaking counted. However, if you do not waste the AI in straight, you have adequate time to complete the assignment.

It's very simply if u overtake the AI Car when it's right at the apex of the curve.

Simpy remember to 'go wide', so you enter curve on the outside, stay on the outside, and exit the curve on the outside.. If you at any stage cross into middle of the road, the overtake will not count..

Wait for the bots to overtake them in corners.

With the following event the same applies, make sure you stay on the inside, before, during and out of the corner..

Then do controlled drifts for each corner i.e. braking just enough to still make the car drift, and make sure you don't go off track so you don't lose precious time. Do this at every corner. 6.4 Is just beating the other car and crossing the finish above 158 mph at Hockenheim short. Not too hard, the car brakes really early for the first turn so pass on the inside. Then if you have trouble hitting 158 at the finish, a little cheat is to go wide on the second to last turn and use the empty space (drag strip) to allow for a wider curve and having more speed. This is also a good trick for online multiplayer because there isn't a corner cutting penalty on the outside. It's fun to pass people because of the extra speed on the last lap of a multiplayer race!

Then once my donuts were starting I went into first person to see the heads up display tell me when I completed the 3rd donut so I wasn't guessing. Then just race hard and win. It may be kind of hard If you aren't a good driver or your car isn't upgraded much. you can use the big kerbs in the 3rd turn (one before long slow semi circle) to get faster la times.

Tomorrow (when my car is serviced) I'll go backwards from the start line, round the bend, turn around and hope to get my record on the way past the start line.

Using repeated loss strategy I got my target speed down from around 206 mph (331 km/h) to 198.78 mph (319.91 km/h) - just to need to wait for my car to service now.

Note: I think that the repeated loss strategy only works if you press continue after the race, not retry.

I always race low on the assists. I did a lot of braking at the start to let some distance get between me and the pack. Then I did skids in the nice wide straight away. I got 12 drifts in before the first turn, then i waited for some of the sharper turns to get drifts in.

I was at 16 before the nice wide turn at the end, so I knocked out the last 4 there. My lap time was 2:40. I think the leader does about 1:30 lap times, so just finish under 3:00 minutes and you shouldn't get passed.

The road is pretty narrow all around and the game isn't as lenient at times for saying your On or Off track.

...

it doesnt matter if yo win, at first, let the other cars go, then accelerate for 2 seconds, and then use the brake and turn left or right, do it 20 times, and then get to the finish, (when you reach the 1st turn go back and do the other skids)

Tap brakes to stay behind 17,18 and stay carefully near center to prevent 20, 21 from overtaking you. After the most difficult turns 1 and 2 drive carefully and stay behing car 18. There is a trick you should try:

Stay in front of 20th place opponent and slow down a little, holding him back, that works better in curves (in straight the 21th or 22th opponents may pass you!). By doing that the 18th opponent may open some advantage over you making more comfortable to end the race in exactly 19th place.

A good place to train that trick is in "Elimination" events.

Stage 8.3 Tip - Maintain 19th Place.

Took me forever to beat this stage. In case you are facing difficulty, the one thing I found to help was turning Brake Assist on "HIGH." If you do this, your car will brake similar to the other vehicles. If you have it on LOW or OFF, your car will move too fast through the corners.

The first two turns were the biggest pain to me. The only way that worked for me not to get passed and not to pass others was to immediately veer right at the start and get behind the car in place #18.

When all the cars brake, start to brake...you will ram into the #18 car giving him a boost so you don't pass him. Immediately after you ram, kind of shift over to the middle of the track so the #20 and #21 cars does not pass you.

Through the 2 turns, just keep tapping the brakes to maintain position. Try not to get caught up in any of the cars wheels, your car will just stop and you will get passed.

Once through the 2nd turn, it's pretty easy. Watch out for a car that might get wrecked into the wall on the first straightway. Be careful not to pass this car if that happens.

Try this. In the start move to both sides (first right then left continously braking a little bit to avoid overhead and delay the 3 cars behind you. This will give you some meters respect to the group. Once you reach the first turn if you get the 19th, race near 18th and don't brake in the fast parts, because you can fall to 20th very easily, be carefull with the braking when reach the chicanes. Took me 3 hours but I did get it. Like others I had my brakes on high and I would weave back and forth before the first corner. I checked up by tapping the brakes a bit before the first corner just to create a little more of a gap between me and the cars around me. The big thing for me was to NOT stay in the middle through the first corner. Every time I did that, someone would pass me on the inside. I would go a little to the right through the first section of corner 1 and then a little to the left on the next section of corner one. Then I just had to hope that no one crashed before the next corner. I would also check up a little bit more in the section after corner 1 to create a bit more of a gap between me and the cars around me. After that it was easy. This is an easy one.

Before you try this: save in the cloud and revert to previous state if you fail.I don't remember where you start, but if you start in thr field do everything you can to become first after... Say the second chicane. That way you can slow all the suckers down in the next two right bends. Try to keep the pack together until you rach the long straight (not start finish, the one before). Let them all overtake you, be sure to not slow them down. Try to tail the 21th into the next lap. Now you can play dirty: cut thr corners of the first and second chicane. Take your time and practise. It's really easy once you master the corner cutting.

....

Nevertry to slow them down on a straight. They will just pass you. They are very hesitant to leave the racing lines however, so in thr corners is your only chance. I you can't contain them at all, you might try to drop to last place right from the beginning to not interfer with the pack after th first two. Because otherwise you hold up 3-21/22 and widen the gap you later have to close.

I didn't try it, but with a few upgrades and skillful corner cutting you should be able to win it without slowing them down (?).

You are welcome btw

First of all, race to win the car, but when you past the 10th car, make sure you do something to it to make it slow (e.g.- spin it by hitting from behind, force to go off the track, force it to struck on your car to make it slower, etc). then you freely behind the 5th..

Steering issue comes just after a different sound.. then make sure to brake your car and run it lirrle slower.

ConicalFern Reply:
I found this the hardest stage of the game - haven't come accross this type of the challenge before. I tried many strategies, none of which really worked:

A) Actively try and maintain 9th - can't do as steering issues drive you off the track, putting you in a position where you'll end up going backwards through the group and finishing 11th+

B) Just get as forward in the group, wait for 8th to go through and accelarate at the finish line - too hard as 8th and 9th were tight up next to one another.

In the end I got around 6th, ended up dropping to 8th due to steering issues and reduced my speed slightly (using manual accelarator) to get 9th. Took me about 10 attempts though, alongside refraining from throwing my tablet out the window.

I have 7 upgrades, and i did this with a unserviced car, go to the right skipp it over the grass en speed forward, and try to smsh cars from track. TC on steering low and brake off, you can do it! because of UNSERVICED car you dont feel allot of the steering worsened!( and that the TRICK)

Bill Pennock:

this one was another pain I tried bot slowing on 10th car but with the steering problems they always got around me and no matter how successful at slowing 10 the car in 8th would slow and brake check me. So since I couldn't make a separation I decided to see if they would separate on there own. My results are based on racing with slow bots as I've done major bot slowing. I'm still only at 1 engine upgrade but of course need a serviced car anyway I got to the front about the second chicane then ran as fast as I could till the straight before the last corner. Then entered the last corner in 6th and judged speed to the finish vs car I needed to pass me. They had opened a gap on there own so it worked. Everything else I tried ended with me in the wall. I go these to win the car but I really think they are a pain. Oh, no assists on this one.

Cudos to EA for making this event interesting by adding the stage 8.3 challenge. Also the event 9.6 requires to win without going off track, but the software gives you some slack, like a one or two near-off track don't disqualify you.

Guillejarque asked:
Oh, going off-track is allowed! I still thinking 9.6. is very difficult because of its ten laps, but, without going off-track? That seems if like in a real F1 race, you exit in last position and you must win to win the Championship. Luckily, IA's level is very low.

You can go off track a few seconds. Try it on first curve.

77.249.245.144 Reply:>br />Small errors are allowed, but big/wide explorations are not accepted. 'Pushing' you're opponents away in the first chicane is more than allowed, but not really neaded.

At PR109 with all the non-gold upgrades, I got to 1st place on the second lap. It gets difficult again when you start lapping cars. You have to lap them to stay in front, but they come back at you surprisingly quickly. Don't let them bully you into going into corners too fast (like I did). Let them through then pass them again at the corners. Above all - concentrate! You have to take the chicanes carefully through 10 laps - one lapse (no pun intended) and you're toast. Good luck.
