Day 1 very easy and quick. Only 3 events so no need to service inbetween. All at Suzuka.
1.1 No opponent. Just complete a lap. Take your time (bot management & you never know if you have to beat your own time later in the event).
1.2 Speed snap (Suzuka East, from the starting line through the first right hander). Take it easy on the approach to the corner, take a wide line in (= keep left) and hit the throttle as you are turning in. Aim for the apex / inside curb and drift out towards the left. Win by as small a margin as possible (manual controls are handy in doing this)
1.3 Finish 2nd in a Cup race after tailgating Zoe within 40 yards for 40 seconds. Zoe is leading so pass everyone first and then stick to her bumper. No problem if you lose contact, all the tailgating is added up. After completing the 40 secs I dropped back and held up 3rd place as much as possible. No problem being further back than 2nd during the race, as long as you finish 2nd. Serviced

Day 2 also no problem. Only 3 events & no need to service inbetween. All at Suzuka
2.1 Cup race, 2 laps at Suzuka West. Finish in the top 3 with Zoe & Magnus. You start in 3rd place. If top 3 is enough, no point in finishing higher than 3rd (botmanagement). I let Zoe & Magnus disappear ahead in the distance and blocked and held up the field behind as much as possible. No problem dropping back further than 3rd during the race as long as you finish 3rd in the end.
2.2 Speed record at Suzuka East. The usual: turn round at the start, turn back in the right direction somewhere in the turn so you can get the speed up and use the full straight to get to the target (147.2 mph). Lift or brake as soon as you pass the target, win by as small a margin as possible. Cruise around and complete the lap.
2.3 Cup race at Suzuka GP Circuit. Win with an average of 105 mph. Get to the lead and keep the speed up. The average should slowly but surely go towards 105 mph or beyond. The long sections on the second part of the lap should take care of that. Slowed down in the end to let the average drop to 105 mph. Serviced.

4 challenges all at Silverstone. Challenge 1-3-4 in the old Skyline 2000 GT-R, challenge 2 in the Skyline GT-R Group A. Another pretty easy & good fun / change from the usual day. And you get the 2000 GT-R at the end of it for free. No servicing needed in between (probably no upgrading either - but why shouldn't you do the R$ upgrades, they only cost a few thousand R$ and arrive within minutes).
"Unleash the beast" is a bit inapropriate where the 2000 GT-R is concerned. PR 0.1, it drives like a tortoise. Still, it adds to the variation of the game and driving a slow car in a slow race with other slow cars is quite relaxing and enjoyable.
4.1 Autocross in the "old" 2000 GT-R (0/26, waiting on 7 level 1 upgrades, upgradetime 5 minutes). Plenty of time to reach the target time (56s and a bit) even without upgrades. Apart from getting used to how slow the 2000 GT-R is (PR 0.1!!), be warned that - if you're doing botmanagement and trying to win by as small a margin as possible - it takes about 1-1,5 seconds to cross the line. Even when you're parked right in front of the flag waiting for the clock run closer to the target time.
4.2 Autocross on the same section, now in the Skyline GT-R group A, target time 42s. No problem, same issue with waiting at the finish for the clock to run closer to the target time. Only 1 or 2 bars of damage, but if you want to service the Group A, after this challenge is the last chance to do it today - next 2 races are in the 2000 GT-R again.
4.3 Head to head with Magnus on Silverstone National, win by 55 yards. Car was 1111111 by now, waiting for 6 additional R$ upgrades to go to 2212222). Took Magnus on the inside of the first corner, as we both got up to speed (ahem!) just tapped him behind the rear wheel before the next set of corners, and he spun round. Took him so long to recover (over 500 yds back) I had to wait at the line, won by 60 yds in the end.
4.4 3 lap Cup race in the 2000 GT-R on Silverstone National. Straightforward. You can go right up the middle of the field and get into the lead by taking the last two cars on the inside of the corners before the long back straight. Slowed and blocked the bots as much as possible. Beware that the first few cars are quite close together and may pass you while you are blocking the car in 2nd place.

4.4 is SUPER tough, but I finally managed to get through it using my $R only upgraded car and around 10-15 trial.
Here's how I did it.
Lap 1
Overtake 1 - Start straight, once get 1 overtake and break for nano second
Overtake 2 - 1st Turn go inner and overtake
Overtake 3 - break gently and let him pass through and go inner at Turn 2
Overtake 4 - break gently and let him pass through and go inner at Turn 3.
Overtake 5 - THIS IS THE MOST CHALLENGING one. Right after turn 3 you have to slow down a little bit more BUT not too much. If you brake too much he will overtake you and you will never be able to catch him again in this Lap. If you successful let it overtake you and you are still not far behind him, you should be able to overtake him in the last big turn. Over that turn DON'T LET HIM overtake you in Lap 1. Otherwise, it's going to far and you can't catch him again.
Lap 2
Overtake 6 - Lap 2 1st turn. just before the turn you slow down and let it over take you and you then go inner
Overtake 7 - Same as Overtake 3
Overtake 8 - Same as Overtake 4
Play carefully then you should be able to win. Poor me in my fifth trial I'm able to get the 8 overtake but then too excited/nervous and did a bad last turn and come 2nd.
The fifth overtake is the most challenging one. Others you should be able to master it with a few trial. But the 5th one is very difficult for me to catch the timing.
Enjoy!

I did this on third try with upgrades 1011111, PR 42.8. The key was to gain as many positions as possible in the first 4 turns. I got a great exit out of turn 1 and got up to 10th, dove down the inside into turn 2 to get up to 7th, and overtook 2 more cars into turn 4. I cut the third to last corner on the first lap by driving straight through the grass. Overtook for 2nd place in the final corner of lap 1. For some reason, I had to tailgate Magnus within 16 meters (not the 40 meters in the description) for the timer to count. After I tailgated for 20 seconds I overtook Magnus into turn 4, and then did some bot slowing while making sure I wasn't at risk of being overtaken.

I did this on first try with upgrades 1011111, PR 42.8. Here's one tip for all endurance events: don't overtake cars if you have more than 80 seconds remaining. Wasn't too hard to win (just drive well). I reached the target with 20 seconds left and I just stopped and waited for the time to run out.

I did this on fourth try with upgrades 1011111, PR 42.8. This one actually was at the limit of what I could get out of the car; if I had 1 less upgrade I would have had no chance of passing this challenge. Turn 1 is flat out, which means I could take the lead (other bots are slow in turn 1). I always placed my car ahead of 2nd place so that he couldn't overtake. The purpose of this is that I have a clean track ahead of me. I drove straight through the grass at the third to last corner. I waited about 1 second at the line to wait for the avg. speed to drop from 195 kph to 192.

I did this on first try with upgrades 1011111, PR 42.8. This one was easier than 6.3. Just like 6.3, turn 1 is flat out. I was 550m ahead of the Silvia at the line, so I waited a bit to win by a small margin.
(Tilt B, sensitivity 5, all assists off)
Goal 6.5: Cup at Mount Panorama (Afternoon) [2 laps] - Overtake Magnus in the final lap with a top speed of 168 mph (270 kph) to win this event - Recommended PR51.2

6.1 Don't get overtaken, tailgate Magnus 20sec, and win, 2 laps. ~12 cars, including BMWs, corvettes, mustangs and porsches. You will seem slow off the line but top speed is competitive with the bots. Key is maintaining momentum, and blocking on the first long straight so you don't get overtaken before you are up to speed. If you get overtaken even once you fail. Magnus is the leader, I catch him on lap 2.
6.2 Endurance, no damage no skid, target 6.2 mi, easy first try
6.3 Come in at least 3rd against 3 Supercars, average 120 mph, 1 lap. HARDEST STAGE. You have to run ~1:51.0 or better to average 120 mph, which (for me) requires a very good lap. Stay left at the start to block the bot behind you, cut under the first 2 supercars in turn 1, then block down the straight. When you turn into the uphill you will leave them safely behind if you're keeping your speed/momentum up adequately. Then just totally nail the lap. Took me 4 tries, just barely stayed over a 120 mph average with a 1:50.83x lap
6.4 Hunter, win event and lead the Silvia by 360yrds, My Magnus was a ~480yards so that was the real target. I did this with the car partially in the red by pitting the Silvia, easy win first try.
6.5 2 lap Cup like race 1, but the conditions are that you must pass Magnus in the second lap and hit 168 mph. I don't see how you could even catch Magnus on lap 1, and the car tops out at ~189 mph on the downhill before braking, so basically you just have to win. Stage ends when you pass Magnus.

- 1st 4:24.277 v 4:24.464 Magnus,I watched ME7’s video, then had a go, with brakes on low I didn’t catch Magnus until the bottom of the mountain ~turn 22, I had 20 seconds by turn 1, he was fast on the straights, but slow in the corners. I managed to PIT magnus after turn 2, then parked in turn 4 (the cutting - left hander up the mountain), after the bots were bunched up, I continued up the mountain, weaving to stop Magnus from passing, he was again slow braking into turn 10, and I was able to maintain the gap, being careful about the no passing goal, used 12 bar of damage
- 6.2 Endurance @ Bathurst - Win without damage or skidding - Recommended PR51.2
- DNF, red flag after hitting the back of a bot, quit and retry.

- 4th 2:08.8 v 1st 1:56 Richie Rich, I was in the lead after turn 1, but only had 118 mph by the end of the lap, so parked the car to set a slow lap, will restore and retry.
- 4th 2:35 v 1:56.9 Richie Rich, had 119 mph this time, restore and retry.
- 4th 2:05.7 v 1:56.2 Richie Rich, had better run, 121 mph, before the last turn, but messed up the last turn, cut too soon, restore and retry.

Goal 7.1: Cup at Suzuka Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit [2 laps] - Win this event
Chronic Avidness wrote:
Won in 3:54.008, 2nd (Zoe) was 3:54.3
I did this on the 3rd try with upgrades 1011111, PR 48.2. It was very key to get a good start. I went carefully down the inside of turn 1 and turn 2 to gain many spots, and was up to 4th position by turn 6. I overtook 2 more cars on the short straight between Degner 2 and the hairpin by getting a fantastic exit and braking late. I overtook Zoe to take 1st place into the final chicane (Casio Triangle) on the end of lap 1. Once in the lead, I held up the bots so that they could be further slowed (hopefully).
(Tilt B, sensitivity 5, all assists off)
Goal 7.2: Cup at Suzuka Circuit – East Circuit [4 laps] - Reach a top speed of 176 mph (283 kph), and win this event with an average speed of at least 104 mph (167 kph)
Chronic Avidness wrote:
Passed with upgrades 1211112, PR 45.2 (took many tries, more than 10 times)
Sadly, upgrades 1011111 cannot reach 283 kph on the pit straight even if I keep accelerating all the way into turn 2 (I could only do 277 kph). I went carefully down the inside of turn 1 and turn 2 to gain many spots, and was up to 4th position by turn 6. Achieved 283 kph by going full throttle into turn 1 at the beginning of lap 2. On lap 4 the lapped cars held up the leaders and I was able to go from 4th place to 1st place on the final lap.
(Tilt B, sensitivity 5, all assists off)
Goal 7.3: Head To Head at Suzuka Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit [3 laps] - Win this event without running Magnus off-track (Rolling Start)
Chronic Avidness wrote:
Won in 5:32.392, Magnus was 5:32.609
Passed on my second try with upgrades 1211112, PR 45.2. This race was difficult and I had to drive my very best. My first lap was 1:59 while my second lap was 1:44.3. At the end of lap 2 I was about 150m behind. I overtook Magnus by cutting the final chicane on lap 3. After overtaking him I slowed him on the way to the finish line. In order to catch him, I had to cut the final chicane on every lap.
(Tilt B, sensitivity 5, all assists off)
Goal 7.4: Hunter at Suzuka Circuit – West Circuit - Win this event without skidding, with brake assists turned off, within 1:30 (with brake assists disabled)
Chronic Avidness wrote:
Won by 350m, target was 296m.
I did this in one try with upgrades 1211112, PR 45.2. Average difficulty. Passed the Silvia into Spoon corner. Could have won with a smaller margin, but according to ME7 stage 7.5 isn't very hard.
(Tilt B, sensitivity 5, all assists off)
Goal 7.5: Cup at Suzuka Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit [6 laps] - Win this event
Chronic Avidness wrote:
Won easily by more than 1000m.
I did this in one try with upgrades 1211112, PR 45.2. Easy difficulty. The other AIs (Zoe, Magnus and R. Hayes) aren't slow, but starting on lap 4 they get slowed dramatically by lapped cars. I got into 1st place on lap 3, and just pulled away.
Car in the garage! No skips! Two upgrades less than R$ upgrade.

Start / End Strategy[]
The player has 7 days to complete the 7 stages, the event is 7 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 7 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 7. In total there will be 7 x 24 hours = 168 hours to complete all stages.
For example:
Start Sunday @ 7:30 PM the event will end 7 days x 24 hours later, Sunday @ 7:30 PM,

You need to choose the best time for you to start Unleash the Beast event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!
RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, May 8, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.
Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Sunday May 14, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 7 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately there will be short time to start this event! It will only open for 1 week, to start, as the next special event is expected May 22. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

FAQ[]
How can I service the car when I already finished the day?[]
If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

When is the last time I can start this Event?[]
The exact date is unknown, probably Sunday May 14.
The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at mid day or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.
Will this event be added to the race career?[]
FM went though a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.
Will the car be available to win in the future?[]
The NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R (KPGC10) is available to win if the challenge is completed in 3 days, after May 21 the NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R (KPGC10) can be purchased.
The NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R GROUP A (BNR32) is available to win if the challenge is completed in x days, after May 21 the NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R GROUP A (BNR32) can be purchased.
Can I buy the car?[]
- The NISSAN SKYLINE 2000 GT-R (KPGC10) has been added to Classic Skyline Challenge series in the Pro/Am group. It can be purchased for 50 .
- The NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R GROUP A (BNR32) has been added to Group A Grand Tour series in the Pro group. It can be purchased for 280 .
What is the minimum PR / upgrades required[]
RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race):
Since Generations, if the players car is far below the recommended PR level the bots run impossible times. Once the car is upgraded the bots return to normal times. Slowing the bots works, only when the PR requirements are close. Some goals have fixed top bots. Possible upgrade strategies:
No. | Description | Upgrade | R$ | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Upgrade the car with R$ and pay (30/40/50 ) to skip impossible goals | PR46.8 (1212122) |
423,600 | ~0-300+ |
2 | Upgrade the car with R$ then only the upgrades that give top speed and/or acceleration, leaving the grip and breaking upgrades (suspension and tires&wheels). * Note: 100% completion strategy is -1 Drivetrain and Body | ~PR54.7 (3432342) |
868,000 | 177 |
3 | Upgrade the car with R$ then , then R$ until PR58 is reached, for GAGT | -1 Drivetrain and Body (5433343) |
1,069,700 | 345 |
4 | Fully upgrade the car | Fully Upgraded (5543343) |
1,069,700 | 515 |
