Tips and FAQ History[]

This is the fourth iteration of a tips and FAQ page:

Each time the tips have improved. Unfortunately due to the way forum posts and blogs work, only the originator RR3 Michael P or Guillejarque can edit the first entry. With Tips and FAQ for Track Day Domination (v5.6.0) anyone can edit this page, hopefully this will lead to many more editors adding useful content for everyone’s benefit.

General Tips[]

Strategy[]

Real Racing 3 is a massive game designed by FireMonkeys (FM) to make you want to spend real money on R$ and Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Many in this Wikia community have posted comments what they have managed to reach the end of the game without spending any real money. The bottle neck currency is Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. Time Shifted Multiplayer (TSM)[]

Read the following about how the time shifted multiplayer affects the AI of the bots, why it's important to win by small margins and how to slow bots down:

Methods to slow bots down[]

Track Recommended method to slow bots Damage Taken
Autocross Each time you run an Autocross event, set a slow time of of 4th or less, either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race, you will notice, after each time of running, the target time is increased. If continuing doesn't increase the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

Do not set a low time at the line, tilt B will give better control to coast before the line, if you are too quick or brake and wait at the line, smashing the time will increase the AI.
Minimal
Cup
& NASCAR
As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, if you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Also ignore the bots times on the final screen too, they are based on an average lap time, as you quit their times are based on a standing start, as an average. Instead use the times as a guide, with each retry or continue the bots times should increase. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's time try repeating and vice a versa.

OR If you have a broken car run the race a few times, each time you lose you will still get R$ and Fame, place 4th or less, repeating or continuing and re-entering will lower the bot's.

Once ready to go, get to 1st place as quickly as possible and try to slow the bot's down, either spin them out or park in sharp bends / chicanes and stop them passing. By setting a low time, but still coming first, it's still possible to still lower the AI of bots, think about a Time Trial time, if you set a set a slow time it lowers the AI.

Minimal /None.
Drag Race Start the race, press go and leave the car is first gear, do not click repeat, as this will repeat the current race, against the same bot, instead choose continue, then either retry or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponents will change to lower ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a fast time, instead use the gears to slow the car, once passed the bot go up through the gears, but watch the bot doesn't speed up / close the gap, or if close to the line go down a gear to brake.
Minimal
Elimination Elimination events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI, deliberately lose a few times, do not move at the start (Tilt B), wait for the 20 second timer to run out, then repeat or continue and re-enter. You will see the opponent will change to lower ones. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race.

Once ready to go, get to first place and slow the bots as per the cup event.
None
Endurance Endurance events are one of the best opportunities to lower the bots AI deliberately lose a few times, change the controls to Tilt B, when the lights go green do not move, wait for the timer to count down the 60 seconds. Either retry or continue and re-enter. If you retry ignore the bot's names, that splash up before the race, they will be changed at the end of the race. Note the distance is reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's distance try repeating and vice a versa. It's possible to get all 7 bots distance to 1.0 mi.

Another point, the online and offline bots can wildly vary on Endurance races, especially with fiends distance'. It's normally much better to race Endurance races offline, before going to the Endurance event go offline (aeroplane mode), if you've already started an Endurance race online, exit back to the main menu, if your logged into FB / G+ / Weibo, goto settings and logout, then force close, go offline and relaunch RR3, bots should now be offline ones.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st marker, park up (tilt B) and wait for the timer to count down.
None
Head To Head As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Repeat multiple times, ignore the bot's time on the final screen, it is based on an average lap time, you can use it as a guide that the bot's time is reducing.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good time, instead once in 1st place, use the same technique as cup events, slow the bot down. Quite often a single bot will not push you once stopped, so you can easily hold it up for 20 seconds, then go for it. Wait at the line to reduced the time set, but still win.
1 lap of damage /None
Hunter As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter, repeat multiple times, each time you repeat the distance to the 1st place will increase.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a good distance, instead once passed the 1st place marker, slow down and maintain a small distance advantage ahead, when near the line slow to reduce the distance, but still win. It's also possible to spin out the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) to reach 1st, but be careful not to set a top distance. Final point, the NISSAN SILVIA (S15) can be on a different section as track from you, e.g. If 1st place marker is 1,000 yds behind. The NISSAN SILVIA (S15) could be going flat out down a straight while you’re in a hairpin or chicane, so the 1st place marker is going 1,000 yds behind the NISSAN SILVIA (S15), but travels at the same speed so doesn't slow for the chicane! The worst tracks have chicanes before the finish line, like Spa or Le Mans, learn from any losses, track knowledge will help in future events, sometimes waiting by the line is better, but be aware your stopped and 1st place marker could be going 120 MPH.
1 lap of damage /None
Time Trial Set a slow time, in a Series this event's cup does not count towards continuing your race career (i.e. it does not unlock the next Series). However it does count towards completing 100% of the Series.

Running a time trial with a broken car will therefore take no damage and lower the AI of bots.

Note: If you play against friends do not be tempted to upgrade your car and set faster times, as this will increase the AI of bots, you could always do this once you've bought all cars :)
1 lap of damage /None
Speed Record As soon as the race starts, pause, retire, confirm, either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the bot's time is reducing. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, don't undo the lowing work by setting a high top speed, brake as soon as you hit 1st place's speed.

If your still struggling to reach first place, the start finish straight is normally the longest straight, you can do a U turn and drive the wrong way around the track, so once around the last turn, do another U turn, and blast down the straight, with all assists off, it doesn't matter if you fly off track at turn one. If the start/finish straight isn't the longest you can still use the no assists method to hit the top speed, again it doesn't matter if you fly off track. However once you reach 1st place brake, so you don't increase the AI of bots. In special events challenges there is quite often a no off track clause to stop this technique, forcing you to upgrade to hit the required speed.
Minimal /None
Speed Snap Speed Snaps are the same "parts of tracks" as Autocross, except you must hit a top speed at the line so set a top speed of 4th or less, the lower the better, then either retry or continue and re-enter. Note the top speed's are reducing each time. If continuing doesn't lower the bot's speed try repeating and vice a versa.

Once ready to go, do not set a high top speed at the line, tilt B will give better control to feather the throttle once at the 1st place' speed, this takes a bit of practice, smashing the top speed will increase the AI.

Start / End Strategy[]

The player has 5 days to complete the 5 stages, the event is 5 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 5 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straight forward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can continue the following day. The next stage 02, will unlock at midnight providing stage 01 is completed, stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 5, in total there will be 5 x 24 hours = 120 hours to complete all stages.

You need to choose the best time for you to start Track Day Domination (v5.6.0) event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Thu 21-Jan, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Tue, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 5 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately there maybe a short time to start this event! It maybe only open for two weeks, as The Gauntlet (Season 3) is expected to start 5 February. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Cloud Save / Restore[]

See the Firemonkeys website for full details on cloud save:

Firemonkeys.com.au Cloud Save FAQ

Firemonkey wrote:
Real Racing 3 automatically uploads your save data to the Cloud Servers once every 12 Hours. This means that if you have lost your save data, you can easily restore your previous game progress (including your purchases) and also transfer this save data between devices using the Cloud Save feature.

During events you can use the Cloud Save and Restore feature to your advantage. Before you start every event, manually do a Cloud Save, if you lose do a cloud restore, this will save a long service after the longer, endurance, cup and NASCAR events.

Once you win do another cloud save before you continue the next event, see the FAQ on Firemonkey's website:

It is very important to wait for the screen to display last updated seconds (or minutes) ago. If you have a message stating backup failed, wait another minute, a wheel will turn in the bottom right corner, the message will show last updated seconds (or minutes) ago and Backup to Cloud button will be greyed out too.

If backup still failed, return to the login screen, log off, wait 10 seconds and log on once more, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

If you still have problems: log off, then turn aeroplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, turn aeroplane mode off, wait 30 seconds for the wifi to reconnect, login, click continue, wait 30 seconds for the login to complete, then try to backup once more.

The final thing to try, force close the RR3 app, then with the Wifi on, relaunch RR3, then try to backup once more. If this still doesn't work, the FM server is probably having problems, again.

You can also use this technique to save on spending with gold, for example if you want to spend 1 gold on the mechanic, if you win, the mechanic will be used and the car condition will be maintained, but if you don't come first the gold is lost and the car condition will be reduced, if you cloud restore the car will be returned to it previous state and the gold spend (or even free mechanic) returned.

Note: Before you cloud restore, it is important to login into the same Social Profiles you had previously connected to Real Racing, when cloud saving. Especially if multiple Social Profiles are used!

FAQ[]

Car Service[]

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?

If you missed servicing your car after the final event on the day, the soonest you can service the car is at midnight.

The Target is too High, How do I Reduce it?[]

When the speed or time or distance is too high or fast or long, there are several things that can be done to reduce the target

Make sure you cloud save before you start and after a handful of failed attempts try a cloud restore and retry the next method. Sometimes the AI is still reduced after the restore.

  • Try offline - if you've been online, you must do a force close too.
  • Try online - sometimes the AI target is different.
  • Try repeat, repeat , repeat, again lose by a big margin, don't come higher than 4th.
  • Try loosing by a big margin, but don't retry, instead complete and then re-enter the race - this takes more time but works.

Sorry this takes so much time, but the AI will reduce. With a cloud restore it's quicker than a long service!

For example, I tried 11 times to reach 1st place:

The Game / Le Mans Keeps crashing[]

RR3 Michael P wrote:
If you are having problems loading Le-Mans: Le Mans is the biggest data track to load, close the game, go off line (aeroplane mode), try a complete showdown (hold the power for 10 seconds, I think), then start back up, launch the game and turn the Heads-up Display (HUD) off. This helps on my Hudl.

I read a post suggesting using the RR3 Graphics app (AKA RR3 GFX) available from the Google Play Store, (then automatically updating it from their website). The poster advised Le Mans used to crash, but when the graphics is set low, using this app, it loads and plays fine:

When is the last time I can start this Event?[]

It maybe only open for two weeks, as The Gauntlet (Season 3) is expected to start 5 February.

Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?[]

FM went through a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?[]

The FORD SHELBY GT350R is available to win if the challenge is completed in 5 days, the FORD SHELBY GT350R can be purchased, probably 25-Jan or shortly after.

Can I buy the car?[]

The FORD SHELBY GT350R is available in two series:

This vehicle was added in the Ford Update (v4.0.5) released in January 2016 and can be unlocked by earning 21 trophies in Muscle and Prestige, 27 trophies in Supercars Championship '16 , or by completing the special event.

This vehicle can be acquired for 350 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted or 280 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted with showcase discount. This will automatically unlock Muscle and Prestige and All-Out Attack.

This vehicle was available to win in the following special event:

Report... Android (Z2 Tablet); Tilt B, all assists off

Upgraded to 51.9 before the start as am aiming for the 100% and I believe the earlier you get a higher PR the better it is for managing bots. As I've said elsewhere I think TSM ranks you higher -ie ripe for faster opponents- for getting a 1:00 time with PR50 than with PR60.

Having a better car earlier also makes it easier to manage the bots as you can get to the front more easily and block, block, block.

Not to 53 yet as couldn't be bothered to wait for the last R$ upgrades to kick in before doing today's event.

1.1. Standard cup - lots of blocking. It tried to TSM me so I force- closed, restarted and went offline. This is standard practice for me, I'm not interested in racing against TSM opponents - it also makes it more difficult to see if bot slowing is working.

Winning time of 1:55.278 (event bot Andersson (SWE) second in 1:55.578). Total 4 bars used (20 remaining)

1.2. Target: event bot Andersson (SWE) 3.5 miles Total 9 bars used (15 remaining)

1.3 Target: 101.4MPH (event bot Andersson)

Managed to time this one just right at 101.74MPH. Speed snap is a killer for undoing good bot-slowing work. There's a lot of skill in hitting the speed just right.

Total 9.5 bars used (14.5 remaining) - put car in for servicing as turning in for the night.

Forgot to pay attention to the PR recommendations - will do so tomorrow.

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"How about we get started with a lap on this fine track? Michael's already strapped in and ready to go, so let's see if you can beat him." maybe a H2H or Cup.

Goal 2.2: Speed Record at Dubai Autodrome - Hill Circuit - Win this event

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"That was a close one, but talent trumps experience, I think? Now let's see who can set the track record by winning this event." Maybe a Time Trial or Cup

Goal 2.3: Elimination at Dubai Autodrome - International Circuit - Win this event with 10 overtakes

Elimination events are particularly good to slow the bot's down for future events, see methods to slow bots down.

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"...Try this Elimination event, but attempt to overtake at least 10 times, for good show!" sounds unusual, there will probably be a counter with overtakes, pass the cars then let them pass and overtake them once more, make sure your not in last place when the Elimination counter reaches 0.

Goal 2.4: Cup at Dubai Autodrome - National Circuit [3 Laps] - Win this event by at least 310 yards (283m)

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"...win this last cup by at least 310 yd (283 m) to really rub it in!" Try to PIT the lead bot then leg it, try to be just over 310 yd (283 m) at the line, at Dubai the finish line is close to the last corner, the bots maybe quickly approaching the last corner, while waiting at the finish line.

Track Day Domination - Stage 2

RR3 Michael P Report

Device:BlueStacks

I ran the 10 lap LM @ EK this morning due to the 60% daily fame. and levelled up +35 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted.

Pre-challenge: R$38,014,326 — 1,380 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted — 134/135 Cars — Level 202

Car: FORD SHELBY GT350R PR47.4 7/29 (bought 5 level 2 R$ upgrades)

Controls: Tilt A, Steering high, Brakes and TC off, Steering Sensitivity 1. Offline

Level 202 on my top device and 189 on my 2nd, although I don't currently run the WTTT, I used to regularly be B, sometimes A.

  • Goal 1, 5:17 v Ahmed was driving a MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG GT3, I reached 1st in turn 2 and held up the bots, Michael and Ahmed kept arguing for 2nd place, using FORD SHELBY GT350R, used 14 bars of damage, 10 remaining. Recommended PR 44.6
  • Goal 2, 138.5 MPH v 135.8 MPH Michael driving a FORD SHELBY GT350R, I braked as soon as I passed 1st, used 2 bars of damage, 8 remaining. Recommended PR 45.2
  • Goal 3, 1st v Michael was driving a PORSCHE 911 TURBO (2009), I passed everyone in turn 1 and bunched them up, Ahmed got passed, so I pulled to one side and allowed all except the last bot passed, I then re-passed everyone again, taking the lead about half way around the track, I didn't need to let so many passed, should have been just 3, but wasn't a problem. Used 7 bars of damage, 1 red remaining. Recommended PR 45.7
  • Goal 4, 1st 5:01 v 5:09 Michael was driving a PORSCHE 911 TURBO (2009), I was left standing at the start and passed most bots on the right into turn 1, I was in the lead by turn 5, so started to hold up the bots, half way around lap 2 I left them and had 500 yd lead, I braked for the last turn and waited a few seconds, I only just crossed the line with just over 310 yd lead, used 1 bars of damage, 0 remaining, serviced. Recommended PR 46.3

Reward R$10,000 & 5 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted

Another easy day, all completed in one go, my car exceeded the recommended level.

Goal 2.1: 2 laps Cup in Dubai Autodrome, GP Circuit. It was too easy, but I ruined it in the end by finishing too fast.

Goal 2.2: Speed Record in Dubai Autodrome, Hill Circuit. Again I went too fast.

Goal 2.3: Elimination in Dubai Autodrome, National Circuit. Hmm.... "attempt to overtake 10 times?" Doesn't seem too easy. Then, I knew what to do after reading the guide. But I lost twice before I finished my goal. Just my two cents here: overtake everyone and get back to 3rd and climb back and get down and climb back again until the counter reaches 10.

Goal 2.4: 3 laps Cup in Dubai Autodrome, National Circuit. "Win by 283 metres". Good..... this shouldn't look too hard for me. Was too easy, again!

LY Lee Report:
Goal 2.1: Lee L. 4:09.759 vs Michael 4:27.643. I got 10,540 R$ and 1,600 Fame. I used 12 bars.

Goal 2.2: Lee. L 227.04 km/h vs Michael 221.75 km/h. I got 2,170 R$ and 300 Fame. I used a bar.

Goal 2.3:

Attempt 1: Failed to finish 1st, most likely because of my mistake. Serviced, skipped service.

Attempt 2: Too close! I stopped too quickly and got second- again!

Attempt 3: Finally! Got a win! I got 5,325 R$ and 900 Fame. I used 8 bars.

Goal 2.4: Lee L. 4:30.737 vs Michael 4:41.696. I got 11,190 R$ and 1,700 Fame. I used all 11 bars, no red bar left, seviced, started upgrades on Body and Exhaust.

Car used: FORD SHELBY GT350R, 3/29 upgrades, started 2 stage 1 upgrades.

Reward: 10,000 R$, 5 Gold

Verdict: Easy! That doesn't break a sweat on me at all.

Post-challenge: 218,480 R$, 149 Gold, 52/153 cars, level 62.

2.3 45.7 Fastest bots Michael/Ahmed/Rossi/Muller Lots of blocking to keep it under a lap (can't manage bots through winning an elimination event as always the same finish time).

2.4 46.3

Muller/Rossi still top of the generic bots Lots of slowing - up the hill is a great spot to park, the bots find it diffult to pass

Car completely degraded.

5:37.926 (about 340yds)

Interestingly, in speed snap I had a slower target time than RR3 Michael P had, even though I set a faster time in 2.1.

A variety of possibilities for this: 1) online v offline - because there's a larger pool of opponents in online, even if it's set as a "bot-only" race you may be in a different opponent group (ie you might beat bot 15/50, so be 30% against the bots, but the time is top 20% compared to everyone online).

2) later in the week so a larger pool against which to measure and decide which percentage you are.

3) PR matters I think this is the most likely explanation (or rather, the major part, I think the other 2 explanations also play a part).

If you run 1:00 with PR50 you're better than someone who runs 1:00 with PR60 (they should actually allow for reporting on this element in Time Trial).

So my 5:09 with PR 53 was deemed "worse" than RR3 Michael P's 5:17 with 47.4.

Here's my Stage 3 report

Car - All R$ upgrades (PR 50.0)

Driving settings - Tilt A, Steering Assist Low, TC On, Brake Assist Low (unless otherwise specified)

Stage 3.1 Speed Record - I had a goal of 162.6 mph and beat it easily (163.28 mph) while actually having to hit the brakes about halfway through the banked turn to keep from beating the goal by a huge margin.

Stage 3.2 Cup - Took me about 3 tries before I could make it through the first corner without hitting someone (generally because someone unexpectedly turns into my line). Once I made it through that first turn, I caught up with the leaders quickly and was in 1st place by maybe the 4th turn. I was pulling away easily so I switched Brake Assist to High and coasted the final roughly 1.5 laps. Despite this, I was still nearly 1200yds ahead at the finish so I waited and finished roughly 120yds ahead of 2nd place. Due to the restriction on damage, I didn't attempt to slow the bots any further, I just tried to finish with a minimal lead instead.

Stage 3.3 Elimination - Similar to the last event, I was in the lead by maybe the 3rd or 4th corner and I again switched Brake Assist to High to keep from building too large a lead. When there were about 10sec left, I hit the brakes and allowed Michael to catch up to me and when the 60sec was up, I was roughly 100yds ahead. Won easily.

Stage 3.4 Autocross - Goal 47.048sec, first time through, I misjudged my braking at the end and accidently finished way too quickly (about 35sec.). So I quit/closed the game and restarted it to run again. The 2nd time, I had the same goal, 47.048sec. This time, I braked earlier and sat at the finish a bit. I completed this time at 46.866sec.

Easy day, no issues to speak of really, despite the last two events recommending close to my PR level. It appears slowing the bots still works. Car is servicing and ready for Stage 4.

Day 3 report... As before 53.0, Tilt B, assists off.

3.1 Michael 160.08MPH 160.17

I did use the usual trick of turning around to get more of the straight - but probably unnecessary. Does sometimes make it easier to manage only just hitting the mark if you can back off then speed up a couple of times.

3.2 3:29.792 3:31.321 (Ahmed)

Standard race - did no bot slowing because of the "no damage" limitation - should have paid attention to Michael's tip about weaving back and forth.

3.3

Rossi first bot after Eric, Michael, Ahmed.

Ran this one down to the wire - ie took first place just as the field reduced to 4 - leaving me a shade over 60s in the race (drop 4, drop 3, drop 2). As such... lots more "wear and tear" than required and car into the "reduced performance" group.

Had other things to do for a bit so serviced the car - having not checked to see that the last race is only an autocross... Ah well...

3.4 PR 49.6

Michael @ 47.048. Looks like a "fixed" target on this one (all the reports show the same time). Whether that's because it's actually fixed in code or because it bases it from performance in the previous race (assumed finish time of 140 seconds) is an open question.

Ran a little faster than I'd like the first time so reloaded. Next time I set 46.860 and saved. Forgot the servicing, but then it only had a bar or two down since I only just serviced anyway.

Just done some testing for stage 4 event 5 using tier 9.2 of Accolade Open using the Viper. Things of note I found were:- It is a tight circuit to turn at the start. Careful through The Chase - easy to run wide and into the barrier exiting the right hander. You can brake really late for Forrest's Elbow - the gradient slows you down. Careful at The Dipper - easy to clip the wall and into the grass at The Esses. The Esses if you miss the wall at The Dipper still need to be careful not to go into the grass - this is due to the nature of blind corners. Across the top of the mountain produces no problems. Next point of note is the downhill adverse camber Quarry Corner before the final braking for The Cutting - get Quarry right and The Cutting is easy, get it wrong and one or both corners will be messed up. Giffin's Bend careful on exit - due to adverse camber need to wait to get full power. Mountain Straight just need to find a braking point for Hell Corner - best I found was using line of sight to the changes in the barrier contour or colour on the left or right of the circuit.

Goal 4.1: 3 laps Cup in Mount Panorama. Started level 2 Exhaust upgrade prior to the challenge. Hmm.... the recommended PR seems to go over my current PR... but anyway never mind. I found it easy enough to complete.

Goal 4.2: Endurance in Mount Panorama, win this event without damaging your car. Easy, if you say so. I stopped my car exact a lap in the race.

Goal 4.3: Speed Record in Mount Panorama. Bot-slowing seems to not work very well, it seemed impossible to reach 1st.

Goal 4.3: Lee L. 315.85 km/h vs Ahmed 314.62 km/h. I got 5,760 R$ and 900 Fame. I used 6 bars, 11 bars left.

Goal 4.5: 1 lap cup in Mount Panorama, win this event going the opposite direction. Oh, wow, does it require me to FINISH FIRST or just ran a whole lap? Found out that you need to finish first, driving opposite.

Goal 4.4: Lee L. 8:34.865 vs Michael 8:55.253. I got 21,750 R$ and 3,400 Fame. I used the Auto Engineer, so no bars is used.

Goal 4.5:

Attempt 1: Gone with it for Eric hitting me head-on! 4 bars used, 9 bars left.

Attempt 2: Alright, learned the line, so I went a little out so that Eric didn't hit me again. I got 5,885 R$ and 900 Fame. I used 6 bars, 3 bars left, serviced. Went ahead with the Drivetrain upgrade.

PR 53.0 as before (tilt B, no assists) 4.1 Muller Rossi best of the other bots Lots of blocking, great choke points on the twists after the straights on up and down (the Cutting, Esses and Dipper). 08:36.401 had an engineer, used it, so only the 1 bar from the previous day's autocross.

4.2 Target Michael 3.0 - looking at RR3MichaelP's info - seems that's as slow as I could have got him anyway (although I tend not to try to slow bots anymore).

3.08 - (so rounded down to 3.0) - at 3.0 miles Michael appears to be around 3.06 - down Conrod - so if you're trying to limit how much you beat him by, don't go fast at that point. Of course you can always drive backwards to take distance off the clock. The main issue with that is that once the marker is gone, it's gone. So you need to have a really good idea of where exactly the limit is.

Total 5 bars used.

4.3 time limit of 130 seconds is fine as it just means you can't keep turning around and trying again

Michael 194.7MPH, me at 195.09

and I slowed well down at the line and crossed with less than a second left (not that I think that will make a difference, but hey, why not?)

Total 11 bars used

4.4 (51.8)

Had read elsewhere of a technique to pad out the time on these average speed challenges so tried to follow it

Did a u-turn at the start and went about 20 seconds the wrong way before starting the race properly.

I managed to catch up to Michael (ie 1st) on Mountain straight at the start of lap 3 so turned around again and ran Mountain down (ie backwards), but ran into Zoe, ended up back in 11th at Hell's corner and didn't catch up again.

But... I got 3rd at 9:08 with average speed of 114MPH (to Michael in 1st at 08:59.442) - car fully degraded.

So I restored from cloud and ran it again, but with getting to the front, then running mountain in reverse (high speed section to lift the average).

Into first by the Cutting, so blocked everyone for a bit - Eric slipped ahead so I started racing again and took the lead again.

Took the reverse at the top of Mountain at the start of lap 2 (about an 800 yard lead) - I screwed it up a little as I got caught in a pile-up at Hell corner, dropped to the back of the pack (22nd). But managed to catch up to everyone again (ie back in 1st) by start of the 4th - with 108MPH average. So just kept that for the final lap.

1st in 9:15.113 with 108MPH (Eric 1st, further back in 09:22 - although that's the usual "rounding error").

4.5 Unserviced - but thought I'd give it a go just to see what I was up against.

I found turning around at the start quite difficult in this car. What worked for me in the end was slight forward and to the left, then hard right to swing it about then go go go (I'm using sensitivity 5, so probably better to have upped that for the start of the race).

Had a few errors through the lap, but managed to avoid the head-ons at the top of the mountain. Passed the others at the top of the Esses (but before Skyline) and then crashed Michael head-on pretty much right on the line... but I got the win.

winning time of 2:16.272.

End of day, car into service, ready for the final challenge (and the dreaded metric into imperial into metric into imperial fiasco...).

Tips about Track Day Domination Stage 05 (The Final Lesson):

Continue to follow methods to slow bots down

Goal 5.1: Speed Snap at Nürburgring - Müllenbachschleife - Win this event without skidding

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"..speed snap, but let's keep those tires in good shape. Win this event without skidding." a good exit out of the last corner is best, slow in fast out.

Goal 5.2: Autocross at Nürburgring - Sprint Circuit - Win this event without going off track

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"..autocross, but there's no corner cutting..." Keep it on track for this one.

Goal 5.3: Cup at Nürburgring - Grand Prix Circuit - Win this event by at least 300 yd (274 m) with no damage

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"..Win by at least 300 yd (274 m) without damaging your car!" A little contact is normally allowed, but not heavy, so no PITing, maybe run the bot wide. The finish line is some way down the straight, 300 yd (274 m) is probability close to the last turn.

RomGuyony wrote:
At the time of writing this, the description seems glitched and has been reported so by many users. Switching to metres over yards hasn't made a difference, but I won by 334 metres (roughly 365 yards), after hving failed around 3-4 times with values close to the description requirements. I don't know how close to the cut-off point this is, but if you aim for those numbers, you should be ok.

Goal 5.4: Cup at Nürburgring (Night) - Grand Prix Circuit - Win this event with no headlights or map

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"..so we've got a night race with no headlights or map." Turn the devices brightness up for this one! Could try following the 1st place bot's lights then take the lead in the last few corners.

Goal 5.5: Elimination at Nürburgring - Grand Prix Circuit - Remain one place away from elimination every 20 seconds and win

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race info):
"..What you've got to do is win this event, but when each racer is eliminated, be no better than 2nd last place. Understood?" Unusual finale, stay in 2nd to last place for every elimination, every 20 seconds, then win the final elimination.

Pre-challenge: R$38,057,457 — 1,395 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted — 134/135 Cars — Level 202

Car: FORD SHELBY GT350R PR50.0 12/29

Controls: Tilt A, Steering high, Brakes low and TC on, Steering Sensitivity 1. Online

Level 202 on my top device and 189 on my 2nd, although I don't currently run the WTT, I used to regularly be B, sometimes A.

  • Goal 1, 1st 122.7 MPH v 118.59 Norm in the same car, no skidding so I went slow around to the last turn and let loose. Everyone (Norm, Michael, Zoe, Ahmed and Eric) was using the FORD SHELBY GT350R, used 1 bar of damage. Recommended PR 53.4 (red)

  • Goal 2, 1st 0:44.3 v 0:45.6 Norm, I took my time making sure I didn’t skid off due to no off track goal, still waited a few seconds by the line, everyone (Norm, Michael, Zoe, Ahmed and Eric) was using the FORD SHELBY GT350R, used 1 bar of damage. Recommended PR 54.0 (red)

  • Goal 3,
  1. 1st 2:00 v 2:07 Michael, I was +300yds but had a red flag! Cloud restored due to using 5 bars of damage
  2. 1st 1:57 v 2:07 Norm driving ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE S, Michael, Zoe, Ahmed and Eric were using the cars they drove previously too. I was left in their dust at the start, inside on turn one (right hand side) and outside turn 2, I was in the lead, pulled away, over 600 yds at the end of the final back straight, braked a little by the line, crossed +400 yds, driving the FORD SHELBY GT350R, used 5 bars of damage, 10 remaining. Recommended PR 54.5 (red)
  • Goal 4, 1st 6:06 v Ahmed 6:07, I managed to take the lead towards the end of lap 1, then started to PIT and slow the bots, I was using the FORD SHELBY GT350R, Norm, Michael, Zoe, Ahmed and Eric were using the cars they drove previously. Used free enginer so used 0 bars of damage, 10 remaining. Recommended PR 55.0 (red)

  • Goal 5,
  1. 2nd v 1st Norm, an interesting concept, I picked one off at a time and waited behind the next, as soon as the last character is eliminated pass the next character. I just failed with Norm, used 5 bars of damage, 5 red remaining
  2. 2nd v 1st Norm, I couldn't quite pass him with a damaged car, cloud restored.
  3. 1st v 2nd Norm, I managed to get an inside overtake, leading onto the final back straight, this time. He couldn't get back passed, used 5 bars of damage, 5 red remaining. Recommended PR 55.0 (red)

Reward: 10 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted and FORD SHELBY GT350R

This challenge was pretty straight forward, stage 5 was easier, thanks to my free engineer, I was able to complete it in one sitting.

Stage 5 (Assists set to Low) , PR 50.0 (aka only R$ upgrades)

At 5.1 and 5.2 try to slow the bots as much as you can. It will help you at later stages.

5.3 Skip it ot try to play as much as you can with brakes set to "Off".

Before the last turn (180 degrees) there is an S turn and before that an easy right.

Pass the easy right without braking and try to pass the S turn as much forward as you can. It will give you big advantage.

5.4 Try to remember the map from 5.3. It will help you a lot.

Pre race :

1) Set assists to Low (incase u use high)

2) Turn the screen to bright as much as it will help you see more clearly.

Race :

1) Careful the hard turns and break much before them (remember about 5.3 with map ?)

2) At the easy right turn before S, take the turn without braking.

3) Before S, set the break assist to "Off" (incase you use Low) and pass it as much forward aas you can. After that set the break assist to "Low (incase you don't play without assists) and you will be ok.

5.5 Is a tricky one.

1) Pass the last 2 cars and 2–3 seconds before the 1st elimination, press a bit the break so guy behind you passes you by a few meters (don;t break too much because it you won't catch up Norm).

2) At the next turn pass the next car from inside.

Rest are easier to pass. Just try to rememebr to slow the bots at 5.1 and 5.2.

Goal 5.1: Speed Snap in Nürburgring, Müllenbachschleife, win without skidding. I hit the barrier and fail and never repeat the mistake again.

Goal 5.2: Autocross in Nürburgring, Sprint Circuit, win without cutting corners. It was easy, but the chicane makes me fail.

Goal 5.3: 1 lap Cup in Nürburgring, GP Circuit, win by 274 m w/o damage. I need to make it a little further.

Goal 5.4: 3 laps Cup in Nürburgring, GP Circuit, win this night race with the map disabled. Now I suppose, that I need to turn up the lights up a little to make sure I don't aimlessly crash. Unfortunately, since the is no HUD map, I can't tell where to brake, except for the last parts of the Nürburgring!

Goal 5.5: Elimination in Nürburgring, GP Circuit, remain one place away from elimination every 20 seconds and win. Another night race, but this time it's Elimination with your buddies. Ain't that cute? Now listen, because the next part won't be any cute. You need to make sure you pass one opponent at a time. That also means that you need to stay one place over your opponent and then pass the next one.

LY Lee Report Device: Asus Zenfone C

Controls: Tilt B, Steering Assistant Off, Brake Assist Off, TC On, Steering Sensitivity 5

Car used: FORD SHELBY GT350R, 8/29 upgrades

Goal 5.1: Lee L. 193 km/h vs Norm 190 km/h. Got 1,350 R$ and 300 Fame. 1 bar used, 16 left.

Goal 5.2: Lee L. 45.852 vs Norm 48.053. I got 2,050 R$ and 400 Fame. I used 3 bars, 13 left.

Goal 5.3: Lee L. 2:03.357 vs Michael 2:14.484. I got 5,740 R$ and 900 Fame. I used 5 bars, 8 bars left.

Goal 5.4: Lee L. 6:10.291 vs Norm 6:11.912. I got 16,155 R$ and 2,500 Fame. I used all the bars, serviced, started body upgrade.

Goal 5.5: I got 6,265 R$ and 1,000 Fame.

Rewards: 10 Gold and FORD SHELBY GT350R

Verdict: The quest was way too easy!

  • Norm: 50.023
  • me 49.468

5.3

recommended 54.5

approx 390 yards, did some weaving back and forth rather than out and out blocking, decided to pull ahead at the straight, raced ahead, plenty of lead, didn't bother cutting the corner (try to save the car) and parked up on finish line for a little bit (was about 600 yard lead)

  • me 2:10.871
  • Michael in 2:20.768

5.4

recommended 55.0

Lots of blocking

  • me 7:25.544
  • Norm 7:26.521

car almost trashed (2 bars)

5.5

recommended 55.0

just managed it - although was very rough in places and didn't get my timing particularly smart, but obviously just smart enough. Just got ahead of Norm at turn 11, time ran out just as going through turn 12 (Warsteiner) onto the back straight.
