The PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS (997.2) is an updated version of the previous 911 GT3 RS (997.1). It has a new 3.8L flat six engine compared to the previous 3.6L flat six engine, a newly fitted titanium exhaust muffler and tip, and a lithium-ion battery. These improvements allowed the newer model to gain 35 more horsepower and weigh 11 lbs less.

It is succeeded by the 991 version.

The PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS is available 3 series:

• RWD Open Revolution bonus series in the Pro group
• Deutsch Duell bonus series in the Pro group

This vehicle is available to the player as soon as Everyday Heroes, RWD Open Revolution or Deutsch Duell are unlocked.

This vehicle can be acquired for 172,700 or 137,760 with showcase discount, with a shipping time of 10 hours. It has also been available for 110 as a 'Get it Now' price.

Trivia

• The PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS originally used to be the car which the player will drive the very first time they enter RR3. The race involves a blue 911 GT3 RS with a red trim in a one-lap Cup on WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
  • This was no longer the case after Formula 1 Update (v8.0), where the tutorial instead sees the player drive an F1® DEBUT CAR in a one-lap Cup on Yas Marina Circuit at night. Update 10.7 changed it back to the previous race, but with the 992.
• In the pre-alpha footage, numerous unique liveries of the car are featured alongside the in-game liveries. They were only used for show and not actually used in the game after pre-alpha stages.
