The PORSCHE 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (1972) was set into production in 1972 as a homologation special manufactured by PORSCHE to gain entry into the Group 4 racing class of its era. It features a distinctive rear spoiler, known as the 'duck tail' or 'whale tail' spoiler. RS stands for 'Rennsport' in German, meaning 'racing sport'. The Carrera name was reintroduced from the 356 Carrera.
