The NISSAN JR MOTORSPORTS GT-R GT1 is a race car based on the NISSAN GT-R PREMIUM (R35), built by JR MOTORSPORTS which was founded in 2008. JRM is a British specialist engineering and motorsport company. In 2010, due to their work with Skylines and GTR's, became the official partners to NISMO to represent NISSAN in the inaugural FIA GT1 World Championship.
For that first year of the Championship JRM fielded a team of two specially built GT1 GTR's under the SUMO POWER GT banner. The follow up year, 2011, they decided to expand their involvement by running four cars in the championship. Two cars under the SUMO POWER GT banner and two as a sister team of JRM Racing.
In the game the JRM Racing cars are the #22 driven by Peter Dumbreck and Richard Westbrook and the World Championship winning #23 car of Michael Krumm and Lucus Luhr. This team gave NISSAN its first ever major world crown. It features a NISSAN NISMO VK56DE 5.6L V8 engine.
