Hi, sorry to spaming your wall again, but your position could help a lot I guess.
Maybe you know, the FM fixed the bug in Hunter races, when it was much easier to win after you restarted the race. This trick was also very helpfull for average speed goal at 5-1 stage in Agressive ambition. But now in update 8.1 the goal is literally impossible to pass - even with all 3s upgrades (PR 92,7 over recommended 90,3) a groub B driver could reach the speed only about 170 kph - still 7 kph missing.
There are more comments about this and I guess many people start getting pretty angry soon, because they'll be forced to skip.
Can you please report this to FM - they can offer a free skip or something (and possibly refund the people who already had to skip).
Hi, sorry to bother you again, but I hope from your position of an active Game changer, you can help us a lot - can you please also check and report this bug, what we have in the new version Messed up high bonnet cam in 8.0 ? Thanks a lot!
Hi SoLaX 85 I've posted it as feedback to Matt. As it sounded like it is still functional, I don't think it rises to the level of a bug, but I've put it out there.
Now if Bonnet View gave you Boot View instead... 😉
There are some actual bugs around cloud save, increased degradation on Road Collection Cars, and the skid problem that they are working on fixing. I am also assuming they are looking at the M$ purchase issue people are reporting, plus however many other issues they haven't shared with GCs that they are working on, this may end up getting pushed to the back burner.
I am also thinking that the adjustment may have taken place for the F1 content, so "Fixing" it, may not be trivial. I hope that they can get to it in a reasonable time.
Hi, thanks.. I understand it's not actually a bug and they have much more important problem to solve. I just wanted to point it out, because I think this view is widely used precisely because you can see the sides of the hood and you know where the car goes (which you currently don't)..
It was also my idea, that the new F1 cars are the reason - the bonnet cam view is now at the exactly the same position as the real cars have it (on the top of the air-intake) so they probably moved it generally and didn't realize the impact on the other cars. Thanks for your help anyway..
do you have any idea about this? I'm good in that track but, if you look at the pictures, my opponets were almost a minute faster... Doesn't look like a connection problem. First two pictures are from the same race. The third one was a normal race.
2:50 was a very good time there, in my opinion. I have no idea if that was cheating..because if so why didn't they cheat twice?
Thanks in advance.
I submitted it to FM... Its the weekend in Melbourne, so probably won't hear for a while, if at all...
The only other thing I can think of is that it was at the transition between tracks, they were in the queue waiting to be matched from the prior track and you got matched while they were on one track and you were on the other.
Example. If the track in the rotation before was Brands Hatch, and they are waiting to be matched, the clock for Brands expires and becomes COTA. You join the queue for COTA and get matched with them, but they end up racing on Brands and you on COTA. The following race you are all added to the queue for COTA, so the times normalize.
Nick. If you want to give them to me I can forward them on Game Changers.
One thing to realize is that a lot of times these reports get put in a queue, yours have likely already been noted and recorded, but unless they are game killers or like the Le Mans start line glitch which loses them a lot of money, they aren't prioritized above new work. And given there is enough new work in each update that it eats up most of their time... the niggly bugs sit in the queue gathering dust.
Putting aside my gripes with certain features lacking from the game which aren't bugs e.g. the ability to turn off the (WT)TT ghost, if it's a timing issue then set the ghost opacity to zero, if it's not a timing issue then what? Either way, there is no good excuse that 3+ years after LOTS of players have repeatedly asked for this they've done nothing about and don't even bother to respond to the request, they simply seem to ignore anything they don't want to deal with!
Bugs. Probably the most frustrating is the frequent loss of the throttle and/or brake either at the start of an event or (repeatedly) during it. I (and others) have reported this on Facebook (years ago, it seemed to be a regular problem with the throttle not working at the start of a Le Mans race ... now it seems to happen at all events and tracks) and Reddit. Totally ruins OMP races (when the throttle just dies and you don't realise until you've slowed down so much and lost your lead) and really annoying when you're doing well in a (WT)TT event and the brake fails and you go flying off the track.
I repeatedly wrote on Reddit about problems and requests and NEVER got a response except when I finally god p'ed off at their lack of response and then I got a "if you're going to write that way, why should you get a response" but they still didn't actually answer any of my actual posts! That's why I've now given up on their Reddit thread, I think FM are useless at customer interaction.
It would be nice to get an answer about the throttle/brake failure issue ... and their unwillingness to do anything about the (WT)TT ghost.
The Ghost has been discussed in Game Changers. They can maybe work on opacity based on distance away, but I don't think they want to remove it completely.
One thing that helps is turning off the TSM name. I find that is more distracting than the car itself, especially on COTA, as it is a long run to turn 1.
The loss of throttle isn't something that they can reproduce and it isn't something that all people see.
You've worked in IT, so you know how difficult it can be to find a bug that is intermittent and you can't reproduce with your own testing. Not saying that there isn't a problem with a portion of the code, but they can't get it to happen on their test bed so without that they have no real starting point to look.
I'll ask again about it, but even though I get it occasionally, I think that it is more an issue with my device than with the game.
I accept that intermittent bugs are the most frustating and hard to find and resolve, especially as I can't even post a video of it happening as it would just seem like I'm not pressing the buttons!
With regards to the (WT)TT ghost I really don't understand why they don't want to give us the option to turn it off. I'm not suggesting that it is turned off for everybody, that would be unreasonable, but giving players the option to turn it off seems fair and reasonable. As per my previous post, if the issue is timing (by removing that portion of code) then just set the ghost opacity to zero and leave the code running, if the issue isn't timing then there isn't an issue which means it simply boils down to they can't be bothered! Given that players have repeatedly asked for this for (at least) 3 years I really don't think there is any good excuse for not giving us this option. But at least if they responded and discussed it, then I'd be a little clearer on the issue (whatever it is), but it's their refusal to even discuss it which is so frustrating.
It begs the question ... why did they open a Reddit thread if they're not going to respond to players' posts whether they're reporting problems or making requests? Seriously, I must have posted at least 20 times with various suggestions/requests e.g.
OMP off-track (invisible) blocks to stop cutters
visual feedback of what the car is doing indicating understeer and oversteer ... so that those of us who don't use chase mode have some idea of what the car is doing
The main answer is time. Jay is no longer on the RR3 team and I don't know that Vix has the same view of community outreach that he did. Matt does his best to read the posts, but given all the other responsibilities the game's producer has, that doesn't leave much time for response. I think he relies on Game Changers now as a filter.
As for improvements, again the answer is time and reduced resources for development. He is trying to schedule enhancement work as well as work on new content, but time and resources are limiting factors.
Matt is committed to producing the best experience possible, but changes to what is already in place are more on a glacial pace than an MP4-X's, and priority goes to development that generates revenue, new content, understandably, otherwise the game goes away.
Please try to keep comments as generic as possible and aimed at game related materials. Thanks for the (wow 14,000+) contributions to the wiki. I know we can consider this closed subject. Appreciated sir,
I recently made a couple tweaks, hope you approve.
I’ve been recording my Gold this update (to see if it could be Gold-positive ... it is!) and will probably continue doing so resetting every update, nice to make use of something we developed a year ago.
If there is one take away that i came away with that is beyond the data, it is just how difficult and time consuming an endeavor it is to keep up with this game...
I think your conclusion is correct, that the closer you are to full garage, the easier it starts to get, but, it is a slog.
I found slogging through the Exclusive series (from around 40% to 100%) (and which, for some reason, I find rather boring) and catching up on all the unfinished Career series and doing the new (cars moved from Career to) MotorSports series took quite a while but once I'd got to 100%, maintaining it for the last couple releases (which haven't featured any new MotorSports series) has been quite easy, so much so that I'm usually done (except for those few events which require the new, not yet unlocked cars e.g. the Datsun 240Z this week) half-way through the update! Doing well/better at (the new format) WTTT means that I'm not having to farm which definitely reduces the time that has to be spent on the game (and I do feel for those who do still have to endure multiple 10-lappers at Le Mans ... I did one last week using the Fame Manager and 100% Fame just so I could level up, it was so boring!) which gives me more time to try to improve at WTTT.
