Trivia[]

The 2022 season marked the final in-game appearance of Daniel Ricciardo as a driver for McLAREN due to his contract with the team being terminated in August 2022, and Oscar Piastri will be replacing Ricciardo for the 2023 season. Ricciardo would later sign with SCUDERIA ALPHATAURI in light of Nyck de Vries' contract termination after the 2023 British Grand Prix™.
Like the MCL35M, the MCL36 still incorrectly uses the RENAULT engine noises of the MCL34 and MCL35 (as well as the concurrent A522) when in real-life McLAREN has since used MERCEDES engines at the start of the 2021 season.
Lando Norris is a nominee for the 2022 Autosport Awards' British Competition Driver of the Year, the only other F1® drivers to be a nominee for said category are Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
