GM HOLDEN Ltd, generally known as HOLDEN, was an Australian automobile manufacturer that operates in Australia and is headquartered in Port Melbourne, Victoria. The company was founded in 1856 as a saddlery manufacturer in South Australia. In 1908 it moved into the automotive field, before becoming a subsidiary of the United States-based General Motors (GM) in 1931. Production of these vehicles in Australia had ceased in October 20th, 2017, and the brand was retired in 2021.
