HAAS Formula LLC, currently competing as HAAS F1® TEAM, is a Formula One racing team running on an American license, established by NASCAR Cup Series team co-owner Gene Haas in April 2014. The team was originally intended to make its debut at the start of the 2015 season, but the entry was eventually postponed until the 2016 season. Guenther Steiner is the team principal for the FORMULA 1® team.
The team is headquartered in Kannapolis, North Carolina – 50 km (31 mi) from Charlotte – alongside sister team and NASCAR entrant STEWART-HAAS RACING, though the two teams are separate entities. The team also established a second forward base in Banbury in Oxfordshire for the purpose of turning cars around between races during the European part of the calendar.
As of the 2023 season, HAAS' current F1® driver line-up consists of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg. With Magnussen currently the having the longest tenure with the team from 2017 to 2020, up to his return in the 2022 season, which serves as Magnussen's fifth season after he was called to fill in the spot left behind by Nikita Mazepin, who was terminated from his contract along with the sponsorship of Russian potash fertilizer producer URALKALI in light of international condemnation against the ongoing Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Hülkenberg returns to full-time driving, after being relegated as a reserve driver for RACING POINT F1 (now ASTON MARTIN COGNIZANT FORMULA ONE® TEAM) from 2020 to 2022, replacing the outgoing Mick Schumacher, who currently is a reserve driver for MERCEDES). Other previous drivers includes Romain Grosjean, the aforementioned Nikita Mazepin, and Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who is notable for winning championships for Benneton and Ferrari.
