Take on a Formula E race weekend in New York!
— In-game description.

Formula E New York City E-Prix is an event in Real Racing 3. It gives the players a chance to win one of the following 12 new cars:

after Brabham & Formula E Update (v8.6) was updated.

The cars have been added to Season 6 (2019-20) in the Formula E group.

The five Stages of this Special Event are a typical Formula E racing weekend for the player to go through, driving their chosen Season 6 Formula E Race Car on Formula E Berlin Circuit: Shakedown (Stage 1), Practice (Stage 2), Qualification (Stage 3) and Race (Stages 4 & 5). Every next Stage unlocks at midnight the player's local time.

This event was added to the career, in the Formula E group, in Formula 1® & NASCAR Update (v8.8), for players that did not complete the original event. Stage rewards are only rewarded if that stage was not previously completed in the original event.

Completion Rewards[]

To win a car, the player must complete the event within 5 days (24 x 5 = 120 hours) from the moment of entry. During this period, the countdown is displayed on corresponded special event tab. The remaining days and hours are displayed rounded and are changing every half day, then half hour, and so on. If time runs out, the player will not earn a car, although the event will remain open for completion, and other rewards (see below) are obtainable still.

The player can choose any car that isn't owned yet on the final "Event Complete. Choose Your Car" dialog of the event regardless of the car used to win the event.
Obtaining any car unlocks Season 6 (2019-20).

For successful completion of certain Stages and/or Goals the players are rewarded with Bonus M$ and Gold,

 145,000 and
75 in total. If the player already completed a stage in the original event, the stage rewards will not be rewarded.

Bonus M$ don't count towards a player's M$ Daily Cap (always) and are also credited in excess of the M$ Wallet Cap (when reached only).

Tuning Setup (reward)[]

Although the player purchases Tuning Steps for the full price, the game presents resulting Setup as reward available after Special Event for any car within the same Motorsport group via Tuning Setup Inventory.
The player gets the Tuning Setup as soon as the event is finished.

Tips and FAQ[]

Stage 01 (Shakedown)[]

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the first stage (Shakedown) are rewarded with 5,000 and 5 . Throughout the first stage, players will have to race their chosen Season 6 Formula E race car on Formula E New York Circuit. The car's power will be reduced for this stage.

Quote Michael
Welcome to the Brooklyn Street Circuit in New York! This tight, technical circuit overlooks New York City-not that you'll have much time to look at the scenery this weekend!

Today's Shakedown will let the team run some basic tests on the car, but more importantly, you'll be able to learn the track with less pressure. Eric will walk you through today's schedule. Good luck!
— Michael, Manager
Quote Eric
Thanks Michael-he's right in saying that this track is narrow. We're racing on actual roads, so there's only a handful of real overtaking opportunities.
— Eric, Auto Engineer
If car not owned:
Quote Natalia
You have been lent the [chosen Season 6 Formula E race car].

All Tuning will only apply within this Event, however Driver XP, Team Principal XP & VIP are permanent, and will apply in future events.
— Natalia, Agent
Quote Eric
Tune your car to improve its performance in this Special Event. Level up your Driver and Team Principal to permanently boost your car's power.

Great driving-we're now going to check our car's energy recovery setting. Your battery usage will be on the HUD so you can understand how much energy you're using in real time.

If you're not already, you will need to drive with manual acceleration enabled. Our default control preference is Tilt B, but you can experiment with a different layout within the Controls menu in the Settings.

And that's it for Shakedown today. Car's looking great.

The next time you'll be out there will be for the Practice session-we'll be driving with full power, so look forward to that!
— Eric, Auto Engineer
Quote Michael
This event will be one of your toughest challenges yet- the narrow streets will be filled with 24 race cars for a 45 minute timed race. Rest up... or get some extra training in the Formula E Exhibition Series before tomorrow's Practice.
— Michael, Manager

Stage 02 (Practice)[]

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the second stage (Practice) are rewarded with 15,000 and 5 . Throughout the second stage, players will have to race their chosen Season 6 Formula E race car on Formula E New York Circuit. From Goal 2.2 onwards, players are prohibited from going off-track or damaging their car.

Quote Michael
Today's the big day. Practice is up first, and track conditions aren't the best. Good luck out there!
— Michael, Manager
Quote Eric
Michael's right–the track is a bit dusty from the nearby Port. Your first few laps will have reduced grip, so keep it tidy and out of the walls for your first laps.

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the third stage (Qualifying) are rewarded with 20,000 and 10 . Throughout the third stage, players will have to race their chosen Season 6 Formula E race car on Formula E New York Circuit.

Quote Eric
We'll be fighting for clear air ahead of us around this circuit-if somebody else makes a mistake in front of you, it will ruin our lap

Our plan is to bank a good lap early, then go full power at the end of the session when the tarmac is at its best

Stage 04 (New York City E-Prix)[]

Players who successfully complete all of the goals given in the fourth stage (New York City E-Prix) are rewarded with 25,000 and 15. Throughout the fourth stage, players will have to race their chosen Season 6 Formula E race car on Formula E New York Circuit.

Quote Eric
So I come with some good news, and some bad news. The bad news is that we got a grid penalty, so we're starting P10.

The good news is that there's only 14 cars that can potentially crash into your rear into the hairpin at the start of the race.

...I mean that's good news, right? It could have been 22! Anyway, good luck out there, we're going to need it to come out in one piece...

There's four retirements, so the field will likely spread out for the back half of the race with the extra space on the track. Getting a win will be difficult with less traffic...
