Tough day in Dubai.
Race 1 and 2 go with strong shortcut.
I tried race 3 a bit longer with 1311111, but only managed 201.89. With 3311111 it was a bit easier.
Unfortunately, race 4 was only possible once. After that, the car had a damage. So I had to go to 3331111. And I think we have to do it again.
Good luck with the 4 day

For 5.1, what I did was I aimed to be around 95 kph when the outside entry curb to the final corner begins, and floor it. Make sure the initial turn-in is hard and decisive, but then loosen up the steering slightly through the turn to scrub off the least amount of speed. Also use the entire width of the car + track, and aim for the right side of the finish line to increase the length of track slightly.

For 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, the fastest way through the first hairpin (Andretti Hairpin) is to actually miss the first apex so that you can accelerate early, hit the second apex, and carry a lot of speed out.

You know it'll be hard when it's at Laguna Seca! I had to add upgrades, went up to 3331313 for all stages.

5.1 This stage was a real killer. Cutting the first corner gives you a couple of extra seconds to get your start point settled in.

5.2 This was a very hard stage because you have to drive almost completely off track to actually pass here. You need to get a lot of passing done in the first lap or else the lead cars get too far away. Brake early once in awhile so you can get back to the gas early and power through the corner to pass.

5.3 This was also very hard. Remember to take the wider path when you can. We are so used to saving time. But sometimes the longer way makes for a higher average speed.

5.4 Minor contact is fine & off-track is totally allowed.

I spent a total of 135 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted on upgrades. Net cost was 95 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted.

In retrospect, it might be possible to win the car with 3351313, given sufficient driver skill. That costs only 122 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted on upgrades, and net cost would be 82 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted.

6.1 This stage is probably doable with lower upgrades. However I looked ahead and Stage 6.3 is nasty! So I did the upgrades that I think I need to pass that stage now. Which made this stage easier!

6.2 Just fine at these upgrades. Make sure to coast for certain sections to let your engine cool down. I chose to coast through the whole winding S section at the top of the hill.

6.3 BRUTAL, BRUTAL, BRUTAL!! I got obsessed with this one and spent about 4 hours on it. Everything about the run has to be perfect to get speed with these upgrades. I was 1/10 of a second short of the target speed over a dozen times. You have to take the left hand corner as absolutely close to the wall as possible because it dips down a bit and you get a speed boost. Then you have to come as close to hitting the wall on the right hand side as possible and almost go completely off track. Then you have to take the next corner extremely outside and almost go off track on the outside. Finally you have to drive as far over to the right as possible for the rest of the way because the track dips a little bit lower there.

6.4 As you can see, I used some wall rides where I could to keep the speed up. Other than that, take the widest path possible to build up more average speed.

6.5 Not a very hard stage, I did it partially unserviced. I apologize for the glitch near the end that cut out my audio. My phone storage got full, so it ended the recording. I had to clear out some stuff, start a second recording and splice the two together.

Start / End Strategy[]

The player has 6 days to complete the 6 stages, the event is 6 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 6 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straightforward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can be continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 6. In total there will be 6 x 24 hours = 144 hours to complete all stages.

For example:

Start Monday @ 7:30 PM the event will end 6 days x 24 hours later, Sunday @ 7:30 PM,

You need to choose the best time for you to start Road Trip event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, ?mmm dd??, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead, leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also, the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Tuesday, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 5 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

When is the last time I can start this Event?[]

The exact date is unknown, normally 1 - 2 weeks.

The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at midday or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?[]

FM went through a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?[]

The FERRARI TESTAROSSA is available to win if the challenge is completed in ?? days, after mmm dd the FERRARI TESTAROSSA can be purchased.

With the introduction of Flashback Special Events, it may be possible to repeat this special event in the future.

Can I buy the car?[]

The FERRARI TESTAROSSA is available in one series:

This vehicle was added in the Ferrari Update (v6.2) released in March 2018 and can be unlocked by earning 17 trophies in 80's Poster Exotics.

This vehicle can be acquired for 250 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted or 200 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted with showcase discount. It can sometimes be bought for ?? Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted as a 'Get it Now' price, unlocking 80's Poster Exotics.

  • e.g. Can corner be cut?
  • Can an event be run with a broken car?
  • If so with what PR/upgrade?
  • What controls Tilt A / B?
  • What assists - brakes high / low /off? TC on / off?

Footnotes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at midday or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time.

The best time to start is late in the day local time, as the next stage opens at midnight local time.

If the event is started 11PM March 26th 2018 (local time), the event can be completed 6x24 hours later, 11PM April 1st 2018. Allowing almost two full days to complete the last stage.
