Goal 1.1 - Use these two laps to experiment with the capabilities of the car. Try to take corners flat out; test brake points. See what causes the car to skid. There is no time limit, and there should be plenty of Green Bars to practice here a bit, even retrying.

Goal 1.3 - Drive smoothly, do not carry too much speed into the corners and do not accelerate too soon, until the final turn, then turn in a little more than necessary. This should kick out your back-end; the recovery should get you the second skid, then just straighten it out and bring it across the line.

Goal 2.1 - You will be racing against 5 FERRARI 375 F1s. Pass, allow them to pass you back, then pass again adds to your overtake counter. You do not need to lap any of the cars to get the required 8 overtakes.

Goal 2.3 - Similar to Goal 2.1, the counter ticks over when you pass the lapped opponent. You can then allow them to pass you come around and then finish a few meters ahead of them, to attempt to manage bots for later Stages.

2.1, this one is in fact trivial

2.2 speed record with 4 seconds off allowed. Back straight seems to be the fastest section (so no point turning around at the start), but had to run off at the end, used 3.2 seconds of off track. Target was 178.06 mph (286.56kph).

2.3. Lap the 5 375s. It helped a lot to pit Fiore on the front straight, while still getting a good run through turn 1, and even then you don't want any death slides. Without the pit manouevre I couldn't catch him running ~39.0 sec laps, though I did get pretty close.

I won't bore you with all of day one, but stage 1.2 is an excellent opportunity for bot slowing. I figured out something that I haven't heard about before in an SE. If someone else has figured this out I'm sorry that I missed it but here's what I found.

I can't believe this works! All you have to do is back up until you're disqualified and hit retry. Every second time the time will drop. I didn't realize it was this easy!

Stage 03 is achievable with only R$ upgrades (1111111). It may take some time and many retries, but all goals for the Stage can be one at this level of upgrade, even though this is two upgrades less than the Recommended PR of 98.3.

For Goal 3.2 the race automatically ends when you cross the finish line with a time of less than 1:37. You have to push to get 1:37 with 1111111, but you can do it if you take advantage of the dynamics of high down force.

For Goal 3.3, the Red Flag seems very arbitrary, and what constitutes damage is difficult to describe. Ran into cars, slid broadside into a wall and all good, keep racing. Then I would receive the slightest touch on a rear wheel as I passed a bot and immediate Red Flag.

For Goal 3.4 you can do 262+ kph in a serviced 1111111 car. The normal line through the turn doesn't work. Watch ME7's video to see how to set up to maximize the acceleration up the hill.

4.4 took some retries, but not too bad. The slipstreaming can change your brake points and effect your grip, so you have to be a bit careful. I usually take the outside line at La Source, but here, because I saw after a few attempts that I needed to catch up with Zoé on Kemmel Straight to have any hope of getting 1,500m and then not have to deal with the bad effects of slipstreaming, I muscled my way through the center, came out 3rd or 4th, then blew past them at Eau Rouge, giving me enough speed to pick up Zoé's draft on the Kemmel. I was at about 1,350m at Les Combes, so I stayed with her a little longer and when it ticked to 1,500m I worked past her between turns 8 and 9. Then it was just a matter of not skidding or getting passed.

If you haven't run a lot of NASCAR Events, Slipstream gives you a push from behind as well as a pull when you are behind a car. This can unsettle the car, so be prepared for it. Zoé is fast, but she still exhibits her weakness of not being a great passer, so you can brake a little earlier, and she isn't going to get a great run on you to pass or try and pit you.

One thing I will say, the car felt a lot better at 1222222 than at 1111111. There was more opportunity to attack the track at 1222222 and be more aggressive in turns. This is one car were the upgrades are making a significant difference.

RR3 Michael P wrote:
There is no off-track clause, so cut turn 1 to give a good headstart, BA off, SA low or off, TC off. Pause and turn assists back on if required.

Goal 5.2: Cup, Autodromo Nazionale Monza – Road Course - 1 Lap - Win this event rolling start (Managing 2.5 litres of fuel, no Heads Up Display (HUD). Using manual controls: Tilt B or Wheel B or Wheel B (Flipped))- Recommended PR102.2

RR3 Michael P wrote:
The trick to manage fuel is to use lift and coast, BA off, the lap ends at the beginning of the first lap. Try not to brake, instead lift before the braking point and coast around the corner, it is surprising how much fuel can be saved and speed carried. Try and be aggressive to take the lead, another thing I try and do is PIT the lead bot, this is sometimes risky but can give a little extra time to coast into the last turn.

Goal 5.3: Elimination, Autodromo Nazionale Monza – Road Course - Reach a top speed of at least 201 mph (324 kph) 2 times and win - Recommended PR102.2

RR3 Michael P wrote:
The back straight into Curva Parabolica and the main straight are the two best straights. Again cut turn 1 and get a lead, turn BA off in turn 8 (Variante Ascari) and power down to Curva Parabolica, once 201 mph is reached brake, with a lead some off track will be OK. Then power down the start straight brake once 201 mph is reached. The 2:20 cut off was around Curve de Lesmo for me.

Goal 5.4: Cup, Autodromo Nazionale Monza – Road Course - 2 Lap - Win with a lead of at least 602 yd (550 m) - Recommended PR102.2

RR3 Michael P wrote:
This was fun! Again cut turn 1 and if things are tight cut Variante Della Roggia too. Good clean driving with no skids or sliding off track is important. If a big lead is achieved wait by the line, but be careful the lead bot is fast, cross with 700 yds on the counter.

Reports

Amrosa wrote:
Goal 5.2 is a strange goal that really doesn't give you enough information to run it. Basically:

  1. You are starting the race mid-lap between turn 5 and the beginning of Curve di Lesmo (6 and 7)
  2. It is a Rolling Start
  3. You are in 7th place and have to get to first before the end of the lap
  4. The HUD does not show what position you are in, what position the other cars are in, driver name, or their distance ahead of you.
  5. Your car has a limit of 2.5 units of fuel, which can run out before you cross the start/finish.
  6. If you look at the Starting Grid screen, you will see 6 cars in front of you. 5 are FERRARI 412 T2s and one is the McLAREN MP4/4 driven by Zoé. She is usually in first place, so you need to pass her and stay ahead of her and the other 5 FERRARI's when you cross the line in order to win
  7. The 5th place car is going to be right in your line if you accelerate immediately and turn flat out at 6. Trying to get around them wastes a lot of momentum.
  8. If you hesitate for a fraction of a second at the start before accelerating, you can get a great run off of 6 and 7 and be able to get into third before Variante Ascari. Here you need to line up the turn and gun it past the second place car and Zoé.
  9. If you carry this momentum through Ascari, you should be able to accelerate to Parabolica and then coast a bit to conserve fuel.
  10. When Zoé starts to close, get back on the throttle. You should have just enough fuel to make it to the finish line. If you run out short, try to defend and keep Zoé behind you while you coast over the line.

Goal 7.3: Cup at Suzuka Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit - Rolling Start [1 lap] - Reach a top speed of at least 194 mph (313 kph) 3 times and win - Recommended PR104.3

RR3 Michael P wrote:
Rolling start is out of Spoon Curves, aim for 1 top speed into 130R, depending on upgrades it may be possible to take flat, then down the start straight and finally into 130R again.

Goal 7.4: Cup at Suzuka Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit [1 lap] - Tailgate Zoé within 22 yds (20 m) for 20 seconds and win - Recommended PR104.3

RR3 Michael P wrote:

7.2: The key, I discovered, was to go flat out into Degner 1 and immediately brake and cut Degner 2 without skidding. Stay on track everywhere except for Degner 2.

Here are a few steps you should follow:

1. Stay on the throttle (a.k.a. gas pedal or accelerator) from the start until you are just past the apex of Degner 1.

2. Brake and turn right to cut Degner 2.

3. While you are on the grass, don't brake or accelerate and just let the car coast. Steer slightly to the right while being mindful of the low amount of grip.

4. When you get back onto the track, accelerate.

5. Brake a little bit after the curb on the right side ends, and aim for a 90-100 kph apex speed.

6. Accelerate out of the corner without skidding.

Stage 7 Race 3: Be sure to not damage the front of the car. If you do, that lowers your acceleration and top speed.

7.1 Don't finish any higher than 4th to keep the bots slow. Drag out the race if you can too hopefully keep bots slow and targets low in future events.

RR3 Fearless Stage 7.2 @ 1131113

7.2 Time isn't the problem on this stage, average speed is! The hardest part by far is the very last corner. If you watch my video carefully you'll see that I don't touch the brakes until fairly late in the run. I didn't mean to go off the track into the sand on the one corner, but it actually seemed to help me keep my speed up.

RR3_Fearless_Stage_7.3_@_1331113

RR3 Fearless Stage 7.3 @ 1331113

7.3 I tried this quite a few times at 1131113 and was very close. I warped ahead to 7.4 and found it was even harder. So I decided to go back to 7.3 and apply some more upgrades. Tier 2 and 3 drivetrain upgrades gave a nice boost. The exhaust upgrade was cheaper but it didn't give me a lot. Done with 1331113.

RR3_Fearless_Stage_7.4_@_1331113

RR3 Fearless Stage 7.4 @ 1331113

7.4 This is a hard and frustrating level. A lot of the time the bots are wrecking in the 3rd & 4th corners. That makes it extremely hard to get through there without serious speed reducing damage. Then there's driving fast enough to catch first place without sliding off all of these corners. Don't get me wrong, I love driving this car through all those winding corners!

8.2 Man this one was hard for me. As you can see, I upgraded to all threes. Even then it was hard. The goal did drop as I kept failing, but I never got it lower than what you see here. I spent 2 hours on this. My starting point was 5th pink writing on the right-hand wall after the red line. I seem to be a pinch slower when I went with just 2 tires off track so I avoided that.

Start / End Strategy[]

The player has 8 days to complete the 8 stages, the event is 8 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 8 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straightforward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can be continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 8. In total there will be 8 x 24 hours = 192 hours to complete all stages.

For example:

Start Saturday @ 7:30 PM the event will end 8 days x 24 hours later, Sunday @ 7:30 PM,

You need to choose the best time for you to start Fearless event, or more importantly when is the best time for you to end the event!

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, Saturday , as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead, leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also, the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.

Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Saturday , as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 8 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. There is short time to start this event. It may be only open for 5 days, as the next event, Ford GT (2017) Championship, is expected Jan 6th. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

FAQ[]

How can I service the car when I already finished the day?[]

If the final car service is missed, after the final event on the day, the soonest it can service is at midnight (local time), when the next stage opens.

When is the last time I can start this Event?[]

The exact date is unknown, normally 1 – 2 weeks.

The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at midday or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time. Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

Will this event be added to the race career?[]

FM went through a spell of adding special events to the racing career, the last time a special event was added was September 2015 v3.6, NASCAR Academy was added directly to the NASCAR career, without previously being released as a Time Limited Event (TLE). Previous to that was April 2015 v3.3, with Redline: Origins and MotorFiesta 1. It is therefore unlikely this event will be added to the racing career.

Will the car be available to win in the future?[]

The McLAREN MP4/4 is available to win if the challenge is completed in 8 days, after Dec 28th the McLAREN MP4/4 can be purchased.

With the introduction of Flashback Special Events, it maybe possible to repeat this special event in the future.

Can I buy the car?[]

The McLAREN MP4/4 is available in one series:

This vehicle was added in the Red Bull Ring Update (v6.0.0) released of Dec 2017 and can be unlocked by earning ?? trophies in Campionato Scuderia Ferrari.

This vehicle can be acquired for 950 Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted. It can sometimes be bought for ?? Curr.Gold.New.80x80.Shifted as a 'Get it Now' price, unlocking MP4/4 Historia.
