4.2 This isn't too hard with R$ upgrades. There's many places you can hit speed. Remember on the last set of corners that you can go off track without actually being "off track". not for the big tip... once you lap a car, wait for 2nd place to catch up to you! This will help to keep the target lower & bots slower in coming races.
4.3 This was fun! I used every trick in the book, don't think I had to. I got the first place with a lot of time left over to play around a bit.
4.4 I just couldn't get there with R$ upgrades and a target of 260.2 kph! 255 kph was my best. Oh well, I'm guessing more upgrades will be required yet.

For 5.2, if you can catch Victoria and crash her out before she gets away, then you don't need to worry about having to be faster than her... :P The successful attempt begins at 3:43 in the 5.2 video. In order to carry out my strategy, you have to have a perfect turn 1 and 2 to be able to overtake Maya for 2nd place into turn 3. I found that braking at the apex of turn 1 is the fastest way.

5.2 After 3 hours at upgrades 1131311 I finally added Tires and Wheels. I was very close several times but just couldn't get there. It really frustrated me because I could do the rest of day 5 with less upgrades. Oh well, I'm sure it gets harder yet. This recording is my first attempt with upgrades 1131312
5.3 Could easily be done with less upgrades.
5.4 I love these kind of stages because it's something different. The cuts I took are useful. Apparently a collision after you cross the finish line doesn't hurt you ;-)

Stage 6 done with R$ upgrades.
6.1 difficulty level: 4 / 10
6.2 difficulty level: 6 / 10
6.3 difficulty level: 6 / 10
6.4 difficulty level: 7 / 10
6.4 is difficult with R$ upgrades, because you have to get a good exit out of Stavelot in order to reach 313.9 kph and still have enough space to brake for the final chicane. And Victoria is still fast. Sometimes Maya manages to get ahead of Victoria out of turn 1 and blocks her. When that happens, it's the best opportunity to strike!
Also, for 6.3 and 6.4, in order to get a good start, you should intentionally leave a large amount of space to the car in front on the approach to Eau Rouge, so you can take Eau Rouge unhindered and carry lots of speed out of that corner on to the Kimmel straight and overtake everyone there.

6.3 VIDEO NOW FIXED!!
6.1 Simple autocross with time to spare.
6.2 Here's a "warts and all" video of me figuring out the starting point and the line through the turn. There's a lot of tries, so I decided to speed up the video. You can still see what's going on though. Audio didn't work so I decided to provide some music this time around.
6.3 Here's some fun with Victoria. I'm still mad at her from stage 5.2 so I enjoyed this! Audio didn't work again, I don't know if it's my screen recorder or if it's a glitch in the game. I removed the music
6.4 This was hard for various reasons. 1 out of 3 times the bots would crash and I would get tangled up in it. If I made it past that, then there was a 1 in 6 chance that the Spada would be ahead of the Ford GT (Victoria). When that happened I had a really good chance at making it. Then I just had to learn the braking points and not go flying off track when I was making my speed run near the end of the lap. ***OOPS... just realized that I didn't need to hit 319kph, 313.9 was enough. This stage would have been easier if I had paid more attention!
Amrosa wrote:
Be careful on 6.2, if you take the left hand side, when you cross the line and the game takes control of the car, it throws you back to the right, the preferred or bot line, the car skids and it Red Flags you.

7.1 I find I have to brake earlier than I think I should so I can get back in the gas sooner. That's always important, but it seems more important in this car.
7.2 It's even more important to brake early and get back to the gas faster in this stage vs 7.1. I spent quite a lot of time here, as this track has been an Achilles heel of mine. This stage provided the pressure I needed to get better on this track. You need a long speedrun on that back straight to get your average speed up.
7.3 Finally, a hunter event that forces me to smash into the Sylvia!! I do it all the time, so I certainly didn't have to be asked.
7.4 This one took a lot of work too. Getting a speed run, staying on track & finishing on time is not easy. I had to brake earlier than usual to set up the back straight speed run. I also had to take the corners wider there to add length to my run. Then I just had to hammer the brakes and steer really carefully through that corner at the end of the back straight. I slid off track there many many times!
Real Racing 3 Speed Junkie wrote:
7.4 was not easy.
I once uploaded my whole video trying something or trying it out.
After installing 2 additional upgrades, it went on the well known way ME7 did it. But you would need a perfect run.

I asked Real Racing 3 Speed Junkie to make this video at the end of Perseverance, as I felt it was important for players to see that for a top player like Jan, the reluctance to upgrade is not about a reluctance to upgrade to preserve a gold balance, it is about the challenge associated with completing the event at the lowest PR possible. This is necessary because FM does not provide a mechanism to select difficulty or "turn off" purchased upgrades.
What I have seen from a lot of the comments over several events over the past year is that people mistakenly think that this is about not upgrading for the sake of saving gold. It isn't. It is about extracting as much enjoyment out of the game as possible, and for a player like Jan, it means to "beat" the game with a car as close to stock as possible.
I don't think that comes across enough. That it is about extracting as much enjoyment out of the game as possible... So if you can't replicate what Jan can... and let's face it, that describes 99.9% of the people playing this game, then instead of getting frustrated, or giving up the game, or spending hours on futility, extract as much enjoyment out of the game as YOU can. Upgrading isn't a defeat. It is simply a way of matching the game to your current ability level. Your minimum is not Jan's. Upgrade and have fun.
Having to upgrade isn't you being cheated, it is about you getting the game to a place where you can enjoy it without it being impossible. And sure, you will hear me squawk from time to time about FM making goals so difficult that the average player cannot pass them at the recommended PR, but that isn't a criticism on upgrading, it is a commentary on poor game design and a lack of transparency in the requirements to advance.
So race on and have fun.

Start / End Strategy[]
The player has 8 days to complete the 8 stages, the event is 8 days x 24 hours. The first stage will start the time the player starts it, the last stage will end 8 x 24 hours later. As stage 01 is normally straightforward and can be completed without an upgrade or service, it can be started late in the day, it doesn't matter if stage 01 isn't completed the first day, it can be continued the following day. Stage 02, will automatically unlock at midnight, but can only be raced once stage 01 is complete. Stage 03 will unlock at midnight the following day, and so on up to stage 8. In total there will be 8 x 24 hours = 192 hours to complete all stages.
For example:
Start Friday @ 7:30 PM the event will end 8 days x 24 hours later, Sunday @ 7:30 PM,

RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race tip):
I wouldn't recommend starting the event on the first day, May 20th, as many racers, who start as soon as the event opens, complain about bugs, which FM then fix! Instead, leave the start a day or two and let other people do the bug testing. Also, the tips and details can be filled in by the early adopters, so starting a day or two later gives a better heads up.
Ideally, for racers who are busy Monday to Friday and have the weekend free, the best day and time to start is as late as possible Friday, as long as it's before midnight, meaning stage 8 of the event can be completed over two days, the following Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, there may be a short time to start this event! It may be only open for 5 days, as the next event/release is expected June 3rd.Keep an eye out for adverts to start the event and watch for a countdown to start. Once started the event can be run, even if it's closed to new racers.

What is the minimum PR / upgrades required[]
RR3 Michael P wrote (pre-race):
Since Generations, if the players car is far below the recommended PR level the bots run impossible times. Once the car is upgraded the bots return to normal times. Slowing the bots works, only when the PR requirements are close. Some goals have fixed top bots. Possible upgrade strategies:
No. | Description | Upgrade | R$ | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Upgrade the car with R$ and pay (30/40/50 ) to skip impossible goals | 616,400 | ~0-300+ | |
2 | Upgrade the car with R$ then only the upgrades that give top speed and/or acceleration, leaving the grip and breaking upgrades (suspension and tires&wheels). | 3331331 ~PR67.7 | 1,612,300 | 180 |
3 | Upgrade the car with R$ then buy upgrades as the PR increases | All Level 3 | 2,003,300 | 250 |
4 | Upgrade the car with R$ then , then R$ until PR72 is reached. For 1998 Season | 3353334 | 2,400,900 | 395 |
5 | Fully upgrade the car | Fully Upgraded | 2,938,800 | 660 |

Footnotes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 The way FM display the date isn't very clear, they use a rounding factor. The days and hours remaining, to start, is changing at midday or on the half hour. The closing date and time displayed is a cautious closing date and time.
The best time to start is late in the day local time, as the next stage opens at midnight local time.
If the event is started 11PM May 20th 2018 (local time), the event can be completed 8x24 hours later, 11PM May 27th 2018. Allowing almost two full days to complete the last stage.
