And that's the end of Free Practice 1. It barely feels like it started! This schedule will be a big test, both on-site and at the factory.

That being said, I think you've got a visitor... I'm sure they'll be able to give a pep talk before this evening's session.

Good evening, Champ! As you've noticed, this weekend is a historic affair—we'll have a special Qualifying Race to determine the grid for the main event on Sunday.

This evening, we have a Qualifying session, which will determine the Sprint Qualifying race grid. I'm sure you'll be able to deliver a great result.

What a terrible session—though it's not your fault. Looks like a front suspension failure. The crew will inspect the damage and see what needs replacing.

Frankly, I'm impressed that you managed to complete a relatively clean lap with that amount of damage.

Regardless of your performance, we won't be continuing on in Qualifying—and we'll likely get a grid penalty for the Sprint Race after we replace the parts.
— Eric, Auto Engineer
Quote Michael
It hasn't been the smoothest Friday that you've experienced, but do keep in mind that we've got another Practice session before the Sprint Race.

I'm sure the team will have the car ready to go, but most importantly, you can make up some positions in the Sprint Race with those talents you displayed earlier.

That's somewhat reassuring, Michael. But I think I can take it from here. There's a packed testing program this morning, made a little more difficult due to the overnight repairs.
