DODGE is an American automobile manufacturer based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, US. Founded in 1900 in Detroit by Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge as the Dodge Brothers Company, it began producing vehicles under its own name in 1914. Acquired by CHRYSLER in 1928, DODGE became CHRYSLER's mid-priced brand, producing mainly trucks and full-sized passenger cars. Following a misguided change in brand strategy, DODGE was revitalized in the late 1960s thanks to its entry into the "muscle car" and "pony car" market with two iconic models - the CHARGER and the CHALLENGER. The company would turn to mid-size cars in the 1970s, in the wake of the oil crises of 1973 and 1979, but by the early 1990s, DODGE came back to the performance car market with the VIPER. In 1998, the brand became a part of DaimlerChrysler, entering a period of mixed results, with the revived CHARGER a standout success. Following the dissolution of DaimlerChrysler in 2007, FIAT entered a partnership with the recently bankrupt CHRYSLER, concluding a merger into Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in 2014. In 2010, the RAM brand of DODGE trucks was spun off from the main brand. Since 2021, DODGE has been a division of Stellantis, a multinational composed of FCA and the PSA Group (a conglomerate including CITROËN and PEUGEOT), focused primarily on performance cars.

Although DODGE has not participated consistently in motorsports, the brand has enjoyed success in NASCAR, with two manufacturers' championships in the NASCAR Cup Series and three in the NASCAR Truck Series. In 1970, Bobby Isaac won the Grand National with the iconic DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA. Equally iconic, the VIPER has likewise achieved certain notable results - a VIPER GTS-R, badged as a CHRYSLER, won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring three times (1999, 2001 and 2002) and earned multiple championship titles in the FIA GT Championship (in GT2 class in 1997 and 1998 and overall in 1999, 2001 and 2002). DODGE VIPER GTS-R was also the winning car in the GTS class in American Le Mans Series in 1999 and 2000. Together with its successor, developed in conjunction with SRT, the car also appeared several times in legendary endurance races, such as the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, achieving respectable results - most notably two overall victories in the Spa 24 Hours race (in 2001 and 2002).
