The Chevrolet Corvette C8.R is a grand tourer racing car built by Pratt & Miller and Chevrolet for competition in endurance racing. It serves as the replacement for the Corvette C7.R as it took over in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class starting in the 2020 season. In 2022, it was retired after the discontinuation of the GTE class and the GTLM class in the IMSA SportsCar Championship was replaced by the GT Daytona Pro (GTD Pro) class using GT3 machinery, finally it replaced by the Corvette C8 GT3.R which was unveiled at the 2023 24 Hours of Daytona (formally the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona).

The C8.R is, as its name implies, based on the C8 Corvette.

Drivers, Team Principals and Liveries[]

Team and Principal[]

The technical director for CORVETTE RACING TEAM is Randy Merrit.

With decades of experience as a racing engineer, Merrit made the move to Corvette in 2017. After successful seasons, he has taken the position of Technical Director in 2020.
— In-game description.

Drivers and Liveries[]

This car comes with 2 assigned drivers, each with a unique car livery:

Forest Philips (United States):
No. 3 (Corvette Racing Team)
After famously starting his career by sneaking into-and subsequently winning- a Pro/Am race, Phillips has always been a fan-favourite in Endurance racing. Though he's young, he's already earned an impressive number of victories. If he has his way, he's bound to earn many more.
— In-game description.
Thomas Sallenbach (Switzerland):
No. 4 (Corvette Racing Team)
A veteran of Endurance motorsports, Sallenbach has been racing - and winning - for over 20 years. Despite his impressive career, a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory has thus far eluded this Swiss legend - something he intends to change in 2020.
— In-game description.

The player has the opportunity to change the driver (and car livery) at any time.
Assigning the lower level driver can lead to OMP score reset after cloud save/restore (please see here).
