There's this protest initiative on Reddit and Facebook RR3 sites:
SOLO team protest against cheaters and FM not taking action:
Cheaters have taken over team events and FM are not taking any visible action.
With the 3rd top-100 gold event in update 8.4 this results in 150 teams missing out on a well-earned gold reward. For 50 teams the reward goes to cheaters, for 100 teams (in “usual” top-200 gold reward event) the reward stays at FM.
As a matter of protest that will hit where it hurts following action is suggested for the upcoming Speed Snap event:
Every team member of participating teams will run in a solo team for the 330 Speed Snap Team reward of 40 gold. Completing 330 Speed snaps will take about 3½ hour per solo team player and the 40 gold reward is rewarded, no matter how many cheaters are participating in the main event.
If 300 teams with normally 15 members will participate in this protest, FM will have to pay 300*15*40 = 180 000 gold (one hundred eighty thousand). This will come on top of the normal team event payout, of which 50% will go to cheaters and the rest to teams that are not taking part in the protest. The normal price for 1000 gold is $99, so this protest action will cost FM almost $18000 worth in extra gold payout. Not R$ or M$ but real money! It might only create a small dent in FM income, but it will be noticed and maybe push FM a bit further into ending the cheater wave. A leaderboard with 4500 scores of 330 Speed Snaps might also send a clear signal.
It will for certain have more impact than a boycott.
Who is up for a clear protest?
What do we think about this?
