So we still had more NASCARs in EA racing post that agreement so sadly looks like FM can definately add few 2018 NASCAR's just like they did last year and added 3 (Ford, Chevy and Toyota which was sneaked in)
"DMi will publish a robust set of high quality NASCAR games for video game consoles, personal computers, tablets and smart phones, beginning in 2015." so we know the start date of that exclusive agreement. The reason why FM/EA mentioned in agreement is beyond me if you check wiki there are lot more games that offer NASCAR content as per WIKI latest of which is forza motorsport 7 (Released in 2017). FM released multiple NASCAR's in game post the above agreement (as did forza 7) so FM/EA looks to be unimpacted and it's business as usual for them concerning NASCAR. The agreement is definately not the factor in the decision by FM/EA to release new NASCAR content (I doubt we would see new tracks but Cars have been added in the past post the agreement)

Are you sure that DMi did not distribute through FM/EA, given that the first NASCAR update in RR3 was September of 2015? They do show that they have had development partnerships with EA before.
And if FM couldn't deliver as they hoped, and 704 did, then it is easily possible that FM's distribution agreement was not renewed... with exception of the 2017 cars released, which may have already been in development and they were allowed to keep.
I guess we will see in a few weeks.
Hold on a moment guys. So the v5.0.5 update was for Hot Hatches, and the v5.1 update in late February was the Daytona Update. And the Daytona 500 is in late February. So I do not think they will release it this update. It will be held on February 18th, 2018.
I think FM will title the next update "The Greedy Update." xD Well, they have been greedy lately. For Season 13 of The Gauntlet, there is NO Net worth gained back! You only get R$100k, which is earnable in 12 minutes, let alone 7 days!

Are they confirmed for WEC?
IMSA is not part of WEC.
I would be happy to have Indy or to be able to win the three 2016 NASCARs I am missing.

There are actually some new players in LMP1. Manor will be running a Ginetta and Rebellion is supposed to be back in LMP1
That’s right, and that saves the class, as a single-team LMP1 would have been totally uninteresting. The open question is how competitive Manor will be. I hope that the changes that have been signaled in the P1 rules will eventually attract new manufacturers.
But this is off-topic, I guess.

I did mention that (if) NASCAR does return it would be in February, but it didn't stop people going off on a bit of a tangent.
My money for JANUARY is on another mish mash and possibly a R3 spec car.
Hell, why not (finally) a Chiron and a R3 spec Veyron? Or even an EB 110* for that matter. Nice and pricey, to buy and upgrade, which would fit in with the general way the game is going.
Anyhoo, whatever it is that comes up first in a couple of weeks time will be my 200th car
