Happened to me last night when I was farming Endurance Legends. Lapped two cars going into the 2nd chicane on the Mulsanne straight but didn't get a good exit and they passed me on the third part of the straight only to take each other out at Mulsanne corner.
Tried Naomi's trick with the F1 MacLaren at Suzuka in it's Invitational series but the bots stayed on track. I think they may need winding up a bit before they start skidding off, they were going really slow as it was my first race in the series.
I was wondering if they modeled one the the bots after Pastor Maldonado. The guy crashed almost every race he drove in. Last year he drove I believe was 2012
There used to be a webiste that listed how many days, hours and minutes since Maldonado last crashed.
More slippy bots at Indy Road Course-Venom ES

Or are the AIs getting smarter and they are learning to drift?
I can tell you this, sometime we do run to outside at hairpin to overtake the group of bots. Speed Junkie used to do this, but we don't keep sliding away. These bots did, they obviously lost control. Perhaps people who know some computer language can explain this.
Or you could try Hypercar Charge 20.1 Daytona Cup, same Maldonado bots.
