Ariel Motor Company Ltd is a low-volume performance vehicle manufacturing company based in Crewkerne, Somerset, England. Founded in 1991 by Simon Saunders, the company is one of the smallest automotive manufacturers in the United Kingdom, with an output of about a hundred vehicles a year and a few dozen employees.

The company's flagship car, the ATOM, was originally a design study developed at the Coventry University in 1996 by Niki Smart (latterly a designer for General Motors). In production since 2000, it has gone through multiple generations, using several different engines and powertrains (mostly provided by HONDA). It is the world's first road-legal exoskeletal car, with a highly favorable power-to-weight ratio that allows it to match heavier cars (like McLAREN MP4-12C or LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR LP 700-4) for performance.

ARIEL was introduced in the Open Wheelers Update (v2.2)
