With half of the v13.3 update under our belts, we travel to the UK for the fourth week of the update. Normally, that would mean Silverstone, but this week, we're instead taking a trip to Kent, as the Brands Hatch circuit hosts its first ever WTT in the modern era!! This addition came as a shock to many. Brands Hatch has rarely been seen in races since v9.5, when a few people reported some races were bugged. As a result, Brands Hatch was MIA from new series from that update onwards, and has only made candid appearances a couple of times since. All the more surprising then that it is featured in Week 4 of this update, despite still being MIA from series. Is it a sign of Brands Hatch coming back? The GP Circuit being added? I'll leave that up to you guys.
To celebrate the first time trial tournament at Brands Hatch since April 9th-May 7th, 2018 in the old WTTT format (your trivia for the day), we have a rematch of the two IMSA GTD cars featured in September 2024's GT3 Challenge: The Acura NSX GT3 and the BMW M6 GT3. Of course, we need a third car, and so the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RS was added as the loaned car.
Performance wise, it appears that the BMW will be the slightly better car here. I forgot to make the thread earlier, but that may have been a blessing in disguise, because there was a changing in the guard from majority Acura to majority BMW at the top. The BMW has better grip and brakes, both of which are critical around Brands Hatch. On paper, its only disadvantage is .07s slower acceleration. So far, Alfred has set a 31.4, the second quickest pole time in modern WTT history, only to the McLaren 765LT at Lime Rock Park's Road Course in May 2024.
The Acura did start off as the better car, and its aero grip setup is good help around corners like Paddock Hill bend. I'd argue that like the Nissan Z GT4 to the BMW M4 GT4, while not being faster overall, it is faster with all 3's, as I beat my 5333343 BMW time with an all 3's Acura without trying too hard. What does hinder this car though is that it doesn't have as good low speed grip, nor does it brake as well, which is a problem when trying to slow down into Turn 2. With that said though, it should be within a tenth of the BMW.
And then the outlier. Why couldn't Slingshot just throw in the Lamborghini or Ferrari GTD? The 2018 GT3 RS is an okay car, it's nothing special but it's also not horrible. As you would expect with a road car, it has better speed and acceleration, plus better brakes too than the GTD's. However, it has nowhere near enough grip to compete with the race cars. With a delta of around 3.5 seconds to pole, I'm not quite sure where that would land it, but I would say D or E since the deltas will be small this week.

This week’s sale is 35% off the BMW M6 GT3. Its last sale was 45% off during December 2024.
Purchase price: 488 gold
R$ Upgrades (1111111): R$492,765
Series Upgrades (5433343): R$2,031,640 and 561 gold
Fully Upgraded (5444344): R$2,031,640 and 821 gold
There is no Exclusive Series for this car, at least yet.
This car has one series, the (IMSA GTD) 2018 Season, paying 76 gold. You only need one car for series completion.
The BMW has been screwed twice in the last year. First, thanks to licensing changes, it lost its iconic (in-game) yellow and blue Turner's livery that was the base livery of the car, and it is now a pastel yellow and blue (which is a bit ugly imo). Secondly, the sale now is only 35% compared to 45% four months ago, which now that I think about it, is a bit frustrating on my end since I contemplated upgrading it then! 80 more gold down the drain then. The BMW's a good car, if a bit slow and heavy feeling, and though not the best IMSA GTD car overall, it handles well on the grip circuits.

This week started on April 28th/29th and will end on May 5th/6th.
The OMP sale for this week is 35% off the Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1; its last sale was 40% off in July 2024. I've lost count of how many times this car has been featured on Week 4 (it's three updates in a row now, which doesn't sound like a lot but it is a lot)! Pretty much as you'd expect from the stats, lots of speed, okay grip but no brakes. There's better cars out there.
All the best for this week everyone!
